3M Tape Scuffs

Hey Everyone,

I hear that there is a product to remove scuff marks from 3M tape but not sure..

I am at the point of changing the 3M tape... Any help would be great.:.smile:
 
3M tape from where?

and why would tape leave scuff marks? if you are talking about the adhesive residue , then either get some "Goof-Off" at auto parts store or someone here has used WD40.

Just remember to supply as much info as you can so we here can help you. (the mods here are good , but no mind readers lol)

I suppose i could have been a bit more descriptive.

3M tape = Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film ( or Clear Rock Guard )

not to be confused with Scotch tape... (That stuff should never touch your paint.)

What i did was instead of just getting the front end of the FX done i chose to have the bumper lip covered as well. This way when i am putting stuff in the Cargo bay and i lean it on the bumper i don't scratch the paint, rather just the 3M protective tape but in doing so i have this lovely drag mark on the 3M protective Tape (Rock Guard)..

you can try PLexus or any other plastic cleaner, but I would say you made need to replace it.
I too have the clear bra on the front and rear...

how bad is the scruff?

lets see the pic later.
 
I just replaced mine after two years of abuse. I never had any luck polishing clear mask. There is a product you can use to protect it. Just google automotive clear mask. Sorry I can't remember the name.

The Tape was on before i ever drove it more than 25 KMS.

and now with 55000K and just being exposed to the internet forms... I am looking at well as my Wife Says " Spending more time on the Ride than with her.. "

I think i am just going to get this replaced.
 
I will try buffing out...

Heck it is cheaper than replacing and there is really nothing to loss if i am at the point of replacing..

I think she is coming around.. With the first MOD of the headlights / FOGs i explained the diffrences and she was enthused for a minute (Women good at faking it :glasses: )
