Hi

I am looking for a smoother ride and it time to change my tires.
Already I got some advices from you about spring change.
While I am searching the Forum I became quite curious about size of tire.
None of you mentioned 275 55 20.
I have original 20' wheel.
If I stay with stock spring, how about getting a bigger size of tire like that?
Many of you are running 275 45 20, so it seems the width is not a concern.
In my shallow opinion the higher sidewall can give us the better cushion.
When I checked the space between the tire and wheelwell, the rear wheel looks
not a problem but the forward side of front wheel as it turns maybe not have enough space
since the sidewall height difference between the 265 50 20 and 275 55 20 is 2cm.
Have any of you tried this experiment?:smile (2):

you should barely be fine on the front. the tire will fit albeit a bigger sidewall. matter of fact, i am getting the eibachs with 285/50/20 and i already have 20mm spacers on. i am trying this setup soon. while i doubt my idea will be flawless, i can tell you more sidewall in your case is gonna be a small problem.

Thanks for your opinions.

Thanks evreyone.
If my FX didn't came with 20' wheel I would'nt buy it.
So the idea of 18' is out of my options.
I am going to try my experiment soon once I have the size of tire.
It is hard to find the 275 55 20 from where I live at a moment.
When I get those set up, I will give you the result hopefully in positive way.:smile (2):

^^it would probably cost you less money to buy a set of 18s and tires and sell your 20s if you were going to buy those bigger 20" tires for them.

GEE35FX is right, you could actually make money on your 20s and come out ahead. The 18s will give you a higher sidewall with the stock tire circumference and width.

Like these: https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=427 ($650 including tires). I know a guy in Seattle who is looking for 20s right now, you could easily get more than $650 for yours. Then your new tires are free. But it's your car, if you wanna go Mad Max with some 275s go for it.
