275/45R21 vs 265 on OEM rims

Anyone have any experience with the Michelin Latitude Sport 275/45R21 vs the Dunlop 265s? I'd debating going to the 275s and wanted to see if anyone knows how they look (width wise) and how they perform as well as treadwear if known.

ive had the latitude hp before it was ok tires, handled well in rain but cheaper hankook or yokos are as good

width wise they look smaller, because of the rounded sidewalls
 
On the first generation FX, I ran 275/45/20s Hankook Ventus with the stock 20s on my 2003 FX45. I had a few, serious problems with them. The speedo was off by 5mph and they started cracking. I had to replace them early and went back to the recommended tire specs.

WOW!! 5mph I would have figured like 2-3, I assume it read 5mph slower?.. What started cracking the tires? Sounds odd... does the first Gen have the same wheel width as the 2nd gen? I got the 21s and trying to figure out what to do in the very near future lol.

Yes, 5mph slower. I was wondering why everyone was driving faster than I was. After I replaced my tires to factory specs and the GPS and speedometer were in sync. I'm not sure if it was just the Hankooks, but the 275s did crack on the outer sidewalls on all 4 tires (it happened on 2 other replacements also).
 
I have 275/45-21 on my FX50, Pirelli Verde Scorpions. The speedometer is off by 1-2mph at most. Fitment is great and the ride quality is a bit better as well.
 
It's basic math, 275/45 is less than 1% difference than 265/45. So at 70mph, it would be less than 1 mph off. Worn tires would make a bigger difference.

And the person posting about the 1st gen has nothing to do with this situation. Going from 265/50/20 to 275/45/20 actually drops the sidewall height so yes there will be a difference in speedometer. That's not what the OP wants to do. And even going to 275/45/20 won't make your speedo 5mph off. It's 2.3% different or so which means at 70 mph, you'd be 1.5 mph off. Speedometers are not that accurate so it may read 5mph off without tire size changes.

I'm running 275/40/20 on my 1st gen. That is 5.8% smaller so yes at 80 mph, I'm 5 mph off. But this is an extreme difference and I doubt anyone else would run tires this size.
 
Now back to our regularly scheduled program.... if anyone actually has feedback on the tires (NOT sizes, speedo ratings, etc!) I'd appreciate it ;)
