Hey guys,

I am a brand new owner of a 2012 FX35 and I am loving the car. I am in the process of doing some cosmetic work on the car to get it how I'd like it. Here is what I am getting done; tints (20% around, 50% windshield), all chrome is a glass black (door handles, trim, emblems, trunk), front grill will be gloss black outline w/emblem and black matte inserts, taillights, headlights (insides), black gloss roof rack

They said till be doing a wrap instead of painting. However, I'm hearing that if I want my taillights done the best way to go would be getting them smoked? Does this go for the headlights as well? Or just taillights.

The quote I have from the shop is $1,000 flat.

i am looking for help to get this baby the way I want it without it looking like garbage (which I hear about film on the taillights?) recommendations please!

Don't tint the headlights. Besides looking terrible it will cut down on light output from the headlights.

Stick with painting the inside of the headlight black instead.

Great! I assume that goes for the taillights too? Get them smoked? Eventually I will be getting the halo headlights

IMO 50% on the windsheild is weird at night. My window tint guy showed me 3 different tints they had. From cheapy, medium to highest price+quality. the medium and cheapy ones at night with 50% was pretty dark. The highest quality they had wasnt to bad.

It's amazing how you guys somehow get away with the windshield tinting, over here we're lucky if we can get away with the front windows tinted.
Plus isn't tinting the front window kind of against yourself in a case of an accident? Just thinking out loud. As to headlights, like Aaron said, paint insides and don't obstruct the lens, rears spray over vinyl.

I agree with not tinting the headlights and a big proponent for tinting the windshield :)

Don't use film on the headlights or taillights. Don't tint the headlights period, paint the housing as others have said. Spray the taillights, film will not do well with all the curves and contours.

Thanks for all the help guys! I appreciate it! I will take the advice and not tint the front windshield. Also I will make sure I get the fronts painted and the rears sprayed/smoked.
