2011 FX35 Wind noise???

Are there any other Fx's that are getting a wind noise that sound's like moris code(that's how my wife describes it...lol). The dealer has heard the noise(I also have a video), and they say there was a clip missing from the rubber door seal, they fixed it(so they said) but it is still there. The noise happens at 130-140km/h(constantly) or at slower speeds if it is windy, just wondering if once again this is specific to my FX...?????? I know I am venting but it seem's to be alot of problems for a 2011 with 25,000 km, just to recap

1.Transmission is a joke, weird up shift's and jolting down shift (I know the whole 7 speed thing, but if you cant make it shift right, stick to a 6 speed or)- Dealer say's normal
2.My winshield wiper spray nozzle(just plain suck)- Dealer say's normal
3.My climate controlled seats(work when they want too)-dealer is looking into it?
4.The wind noise(uggghh!!!)-Dealer will have to fix it again
5.My brakes started to squeel last week(I could live with that one, they may be worn)- I will check them this weekend

Once again sorry for the rant, just a little frustrated...

Mike I don't have any of those problems with my 09 FX35. I did have the transmission reflash a long time ago and I love my 7 spd.
How many kliks on yours, I have 46,000kms on mine so far. No squealing on my brakes, no abnormal wind noises or rattles, my CC seats work fine (I hardly use them), spray nozzle is good.

Mine is an 09 with 39,000 miles and I hear no wind noise. Only time I hear a little bit of wind noise is on the highway when its VERY windy outside. Then again not everything can be filtered out. Usually I need wind gusts up to 50MPH to hear something. But again my uncles 2010 Lexus GX460 is the same way. But I never hear any abnormal wind noises. No problems or complaints about the windshield washer sprayers.

My climate controlled seats have been working fine since day one. Although there is a technical service bulletin (TSB) on this about them shutting off randomly and the fix for it. You would of known that if you searched on here:wink (2):. Only thing I agree with you about is the transmission. It's kind of jerky and laggy in stop and go traffic, but that's more of a software related issue with the TCM than it is hardware related. Infiniti programmed the transmission to stay in too high of a gear all the time. I'm still awaiting for a second update to come out. I got the first update and it only helped a little with the harsh downshift from 3rd to 2nd gear.

The only problem I have had, other than the annoying "shake you constantly like a milkshake" upshifts and downshifts of the ridiculous 7 speed transmission, is the squeaky brakes. Mine started at about 25K miles, I have 27M now so I took it in for the dealer to look at. This makes my 5th Infiniti that I have owned and I have never had squeaky brakes at so low a mileage before. They squeak cold (which is normal) they squeak warm, after hours of driving, they squeak all the damn time!!! so annoying.

Anyway.....the dealer looked at it and said there was a hard surface on the rotor or something and called corporate about it. Whoever they spoke with at Infiniti recommended a replacement of the rotors and pads, which has fixed the problem. This was on the front brakes only as I have never had problems with the rear brakes.

So, with their replacement of rotors and pads under warranty the brakes are quiet once again and I am very happy.

Now, if I can just locate the constant rattle from either the passenger side back seat and/or passenger side cargo area I will truly be good to go. Like all Infiniti's I have ever owned it is now beginning to rattle like a damn tin can. Nothing like owning a $50M luxury car and turning the radio up so you don't have to hear the shoddy fit and finish work the Japs do on these things. :mad.:

Good luck with your fixes. I hope everything gets resolved. :top:

Hello Mike, I have a 2011 with 40,000 miles on it and makes the same sound when windy it will happen at a lower speed, but always if you get to 80MPH, no matter the wind it is there. sounds like a loud version of a Morse code signal you hear on movies. If the wind is strong enough it will be constant. Did you ever get the problem fixed?

I have a 2010 fx50 and I've had the wind noise/whining sound on the drivers side when on the freeways. Took it to the dealer a while back and all that was needed was the side view mirror bolt/nut to be tightened. Haven't heard it since, it's been about 2 years.

I had n still had n most ppl in my regain have this wind noise, when it was under waranty, they fixed it by doing door balanced n they changed window rubber but it took couple month n return back. Heard someone from Dubai made an adjustment to the window closing by dropping it 1 mn from its OEM closing n worked with him. Dealer in my country saying it cant be dropped down
So dont know.
What am doing, put the music on high to , or crack open the window[emoji16]

I have a horrible wind noise starting at 30 mph. The driver window seal seems to be loose. Hopefully that will be it. I am taking it in on Monday.

It ended up my windshield not being set right. It was an aftermarket windshield (I bought it used), so it is not covered under warranty. UGH!

Those of you with the "Morse code" noise... Do you have cross bars on your roof rails?

I have a 2011 FX 35 with 26,000 miles. No wind noise, no transmission shifting problems, nothing ever since I bought it. The only thing was a new battery required last month. The "red key" icon was on constantly in the middle of my tach. Also, the steering lock solenoid didnt click "lock" which the dealer attributed to the bad battery. Battery changed, no problems since!

I do hear the wind a little too, mostly when i cross a big van.

My break squeal on the morning when i start it, but after maybe 1 km it stop. (I bought it 4 month ago at the dealership)

My passenger seat leather seem dry like desert, i hope it won't peel like a sunburn.. Put some autoglym leather baulm and it seem to be better, but i'm thinking on going at the dealer and ask for replacement..

Like most Fx i saw, power door control is not working -.-

I had a slight morse code noise at speed and my immediate thought was to check the roof rails since I had a similar issue on one of my old jeeps. I found one corner was loose so I tightened it down and problem fixed.

add the same problem with my 2011 went to dealer to get it fixed they couldn't find the problem so they sprayed silicon lubricant on the rubber seals and that seems to have solved the problem
And know i got locked inside my fx at -13C no matter what i tried could not open my door or the front passenger door that is the fifth time it as happen to the front passenger door in one month, add to go out true the back passenger door, went to the dealer again they removed the locks checked all the electric components on the locks and they worked fine so they said, but they said that they found water moister in the locks and that can cause the locks to freeze and stop working so they sprayed silicon grease in the locks and cables to keep water moister out, know let's see if that going to work
hum this makes me wonder maybe i should of kept my 2004 fx35 never add any problems

My 2011 FX has crossbars installed and I wonder if they create more wind noise. I plan on taking them off because I never put anything on them.
