2010 fx35 liftgate wont stay shut

I’ve had this problem for about 4 days now. The lift gate won’t stay shut. You can hear the actuator working. It feels sounds like it’s latching but it’s not. What can I do to remedy the situation. It’s my daily driver and would like to get it fix asap.

Perhaps something is jamming the closure? Debris stuck in the channel or the latch point.
