2008 FX35 AWD needs new tires-looking for recommendations

I bought my FX35 about 26 months ago and would like to buy new tires before the snow comes here in Western New York. I typically have a ten minute easy commute to work but on the weekends I drive an hour and half to Buffalo through mostly country roads and hills.

I'm looking for a good quality, all season tire to keep me safe in the snowy, icy winters. I've read so many conflicting reviews about Goodyear, Michelin and Yokohama tires and am a little lost in which direction to move.

The tires on my car now are the originals -Bridgestone Dueler H/T. They held up pretty well last winter, but the tread is starting to wear low. Looking for something with a little more control in the ice and snow. There's also some dry rot on them now. They've treated me well for the 25000 miles I put on them (they were already worn when i purchased the FX)

Any recommendations would be most appreciated.

Yokos parada spec-x all the way. Do some search on related topics. Tires subject had been discussed extensively on this forum. I did not use dedicated snow tires during winters while I was in still residing in NY. However, since you are in the upstate area where you experience heavier snow falls, a dedicated snow tires may be a good option you want to consider. I would recommend you do the Yokos for summer and Bridgestone Blizzaks for winter.

One thing I learned a long time ago, you don't save on tires. It is your safety you are talking about here.
 
If you have 18in wheels I would recommend BF Goodrich Longtrail T/A Tour all season tires. I installed those on my wife's Nissan Murano, and her Murano handles wet icy roads very well. P.S. My wife Murano was one of the only AWD SUVs that was able to pull the iced up hill out of our subdivison back in 2010 when we had a lot ice and snow on the roads here in Ga, because we had those tires installed on her Murano. I'm on my second set of Yokohama Prada Spec-X's. They work great here where we have 100*+ summers and -20* winters. I got about 55k out of my first set.
 
I'm personally a big believer in Michelins, and mine came with relatively new ones on it. I'm looking forward to another 50k on them! :smile (2):

P.S. I go to school at SUNY Buffalo Law - surprisingly my FX50 21's with sporty all-seasons held up okay in the minimal snow driving I did last winter. But When I went to undergrad in PA I got a dedicated set of winter tires.

I was hoping to get the yokos but they don't make them in the 265 60/18 size.
