2007/2008 M35X Query

Good Morning Everyone,

Presently I am a G35X owner (2004 model) and I must say, I absolutely love the car to death. That being said, my dad is looking to upgrade from an A6 that he had on lease via his company. He is looking at the 2007/2008 M35X and I have also helped him do some research as well.

Few things I know:

1) Mileage is not the greatest - is this true? I know with my 04 G35X I get an average range of 400 to 410KM or if not 450KM at the max on a full tank of gas.
2) There's not much difference between the 07 and 08 version
3) He wants to pick either up that has mileage <50,000 KM
4) The features are great and nice

Few things I would like to know/ask present M35X owners.

1) What's the warranty on the M35X usually? I.e. 4 or 5 years and the mileage? *PS I am in Canada*

2) How's the reliability of this car in terms of mechanical/electrical issues? Are there any major flaws with it? I know the 2003 to 2005 G35 (coupe and sedan) have had the fuel sending unit problems of which the manufacturer/dealer took care of it. Sadly I bought my car used after the warranty period and have not fixed it since its expensive, but that's getting off topic now.

3) Is there anything else you can share about the M35X in that year with both pros and cons?

If any other question arises on my end, I'll be sure to post it on here.

Thanks again guys!

I get about 19MPG mixed city and highway (mostly highway). If I do strictly highway, I get about 23MPG. It's not great on gas. That is the ONLY issue I have with the car after owning it for almost 3 years.

The major flaws on the M is the oil consumption issue on the V8's. The V6's didn't have that many 'common issues'...other than maybe the front driver seat being loose (the rails, etc.)

If the price is right and comparable to other less equipped models, jump on it. Great car and 3 years later I'm happy I paid so much money for it.

See above.

Thanks for the replies folks. I did some digging on the warranty (Thanks to the links above) and found out that the 08 has a basic warranty of 4 years/100K (A bit less no?) and a power train of 6 years/110K. That being said, I am getting the V6 variant vs the V8 variant.

I found one for $23K ish fully loaded 2008 model with navigation, DVD, etc with the mileage being 53,000KM. I called up Infiniti Canada re the warranty and I still have the power train left which I think is good in the sense. Also I provided the VIN and I was notified that the car had one recall with the VDC but it was fixed. This is from a used car dealership. However I am leaning towards if an actual Infiniti Dealership has an 08 with decent mileage for sale. That way, I can perhaps buy the extended warranty or something.

PS can I get a used M35 either from a used car dealer/private sale "certified" or whatever they call it from an Infiniti dealership?
