hey guys,

Ive been looking around for a while but I cant seem to answer my question. I only have 1 key and 1 remote clicker for my 03'.
The regular ole square key that you have manually turn. and the regular remote lock and unlock fob thing.
Im in the market to purchase new ones but im not sure if I can just get one off ebay or amazon. Ive seen something talking about a CHIP? or making sure
the CODES match up?? I have no idea what you guys were talking about. what all do I need to look for? what should the keys have? any help would be appreciated.

Also. if I am able to get one off ebay, is programming it easy? will I still be able to roll the windows down by holding the unlock button? Can I get the cool flip out aftermarket keys they have?

-If you get a key off ebay as a secondary you will still need it programmed to your car, dealerships can do this.
-If you are looking at picking up a new key to replace your existing one then all you need to do is cut at any hardware store with the chip removed. Transfer all the chip and the fob contents to the new one.

I've used this with my FX35. You will need to cut the key, pry the chip from your old key and clue it to the spot on the inside of the case, and transfer the circuit board from your old remote fob into the new case. If you look closely at the plastic handle of the oem key where the shank of the key is you will see a 1/16 x 1/8 rectangular plug, pry it out will get you the chip to transfer to the flip key.

To get a spare set of key and remote fob, you have to match the IC# printed on the inside of the remote casing if I'm not mistaken. You have to go to the dealer to program your key/chip. Some better locksmith can also program the key/chip for you.
