1st FX35 service and my loaner

Well, It's now 3 months or so and I've got over 5,000 miles on my 2010 FX35 (lots of back and forth on my 25 mile commute to work every day, plus a couple of cross Michigan drives) and I brought in my FX for it's first service call.

It's in the dealer here in Grand Rapids (you guys are good) having a small chip in the rear bumper patched (~$125) and my drivers side seat heater/cooler switch looked at, plus the other services standard for a first visit. The seat heater switch sticks, like something like coke got spilled, but that didn't happened. It also times out when on heater and won't turn back on unless I turn the car off and restart. So they're checking that out.

I got a G37x sedan as a loaner minus any bells and whistles. I love the power of the G37 over the FX, it's lighter and got a bigger better engine, but otherwise, I am underwhelemed. I find the lack of the tech package in the G37 to be a waste and thank god I opted for it in my FX. The build quality also seems to be a step below that of my FX.

Was wondering if any of you have had the chance to compare your FX/EX to the build quality of the G series. Am I just being spoiled by having the tech package on my FX? Is there really that big a difference in the luxurious vs. sport feel between the FX and G series?

IMO opinion the build quality has been a tiny bit better in the FX, but not too drastic

I have owned a couple of G35X sedans and I found them comparable in quality to the FX. The FX does have a few more tech features though.

I've been in my fair share of Gs (loaners) and I think the FX does have a more luxurious FEEL to it when during behind the wheel. The quality is about the same but it just doesn't feel as nice.

Yeah, I think that's what I meant. I feel the more luxury in the FX than I did in the G. Definitely felt the G was more geared toward the sport feel. By build quality what I meant was some finishing.

I work for Johnson Controls, who makes interior parts for all kinds of manufacturers including Nissan, and my boss who invented the "slurry" process for interior panels was impressed with the work in the FX.

Specifically what I was talking about was the entire steering system where the FX has the motor controls steerring adjustment and it's separate from the speedo console, where on the G it's all a manual integrated shifting unit. Maybe this is just a trim difference and not quality difference. The wife though the seats felt the same and so did I. Seams appear a little tighter on the FX vs. the G, but again maybe I am biased because I have the FX.

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't trying to bash the G at all. I enjoyed driving it for a day and really feeling the power of the 3.7L.
