18" OEM vs. 20" OEM

My 2011 FX35 has the 18" OEM wheels and I can't stop thinking about how I wish it had the OEM 20's for the looks. For the people that have experience with both OEM sizes, will it make THAT much difference on handling, even on the highway?

IMO the 20s provide a good balance of looks and ride. 18s are too small and 21s were not forgiving. There's still a lot of tread left on 20's and I have never had an issue with potholes like I did with the 21s.

I like the look of 18s aftermarket wheels but when it comes to cornering i dont feel secured. It feels like the tires are flexing too much when cornering.

I have both the OEM 20" and 18" rims. I use the 20" for summers and 18" for winters. I do notice a slight difference between the two. I find the 18" is a little more forgiving on rough roads. If you have nice and smooth roads all year round, 20" is a better looking option.

For handling, since I have winter tires on the 18", the handling is not very good, as they are heavier. Mild acceleration out of corners and turns are not as speedy as the 20".

I have run 18s, 20s and 21s. The 18s are great for winter tires, but other than that go with the 20's. They give a much better feel of the road and handling definitely improves. Also the bigger wheels look better on the FX.
