06 grill different than 08?

I have a question about the size of the grill on the 06 compared to the 08. I have an FX35 2008 and I thought that the 06 grill will fit into the 08. I bought a used 06 grill painted it black (came out clean too) hoping to swap it out. If you look at the two grill it looks exactly the same but when I took off my 08 grill and attempted to install the 06 grill it was slightly smaller? Can someone confirm that the sizes are different? If they are different, I guess have a painted black 06 grill for sale... I had the grill painted at a body shop, you think the paint shifted the size of the grill? Just pissed, was excited to black out the grill and now it doesn't fit..

any feed back would be greatly appreciated....

How much for grille if it doesnt fit/ Whatd you paint it with? Im not sure about the fitment

if the look EXACTLY the same pattern wise then that's wierd, because the old style and new style (which dont fit eachtoher's slots) have different patters.....example,

if you look at the top of the grille, does it start with a gap or a thick bar?

example': i have the older one that wont fit an 08....

the four-bar one is older and will be too small to fit the newer fx style, example your 08,

while the newer, six-bar version is a tiny bit bigger....

The 06-08 grill's should be exactly the same. But they are different from the 03-05 grills.

Thanks Jbaker1121 for the info, you are exactly correct. I just bought my FX so kinda new to the game, i just looked at the grill when I bought it and it looks the same, The guy said it was off an 06 I didn't pay attention to the details...PM me if you want it..sorry local buys only...Orange County CA

That is an 03-05 grille.... 06-08 is the same.

The one on my 08 has only 5 bars...while the one I bought and selling now has 6 bars which is pictured. At first look I thought it was the same too until I tried to install it and found out it didn't fit.
