'03 FX35 over heating...

Update, because i don't want to purchase another car, and this car is nearly mint inside and out, i'm going to do the headgasget repair.
I'll first go to Infiniti and see what kind of quote they provide me, i was quoted 4500.00 from a local mechanic shop by me which was kind of expensive for me.

But willing to pay to keep the car another 3 years at least.

I think that is a wise decision oppose to having a car payment. Let us know how much it costing you.

I'm going to try one last thing. Ive noticed that my car is not overheating or experiencing any head Gasget symptoms; the coolant just goes into the expansion tank and does not go there... i've changed the rad cap several times (those are pretty cheap) and when i tested all them they were all leaky and did not hold pressure at 15psi... but the fx35 is slated to 20PSI.... so, i went ahead and ordered a Z1 high pressure rad cap and will test that.... just 19.99, maybe by increasing the rad cap pressure would help a bit?

i dunno, tbh, i'm kind of annoyed by this and i'm really considering just selling the car and going back to Honda. I've never experience anything like this with any of my cars... its super annoyed. I'll post a video of the rad caps pressure test this morning sometime.

If air bubble trapped in the cooling system, it will cause overheating. Was there any issues with low coolant or empty expansion tank prior to overheating? If the expansion tank was empty at one point, air may got into the system.

Well, finally dropping off my 2010 FX35 to get head gaskets, water pump and timing chain done. Was quoted 3700.00 for the entire job may take several days to complete.
So... that's that. I want this issue behind me and finally go on a long drive. Really tired of siphoning the coolant from expansion tank to reservoir.

I'm just hoping its not a crack in the head.... fingers crossed.

This price is from a trusted Engine re-builder here in Queens NYC. Infiniti quoted me 5K for the job. Hoping i can keep the car for an additional 3 / 4 years agter this.

Update:

The car is still at the ship, the heads were slightly warped... they're waiting for some other aprts to arrive from down south but due to the ice storm there, it may take another few days, but if they get the gaskets today or tomorrow I'll be able to pick up tomorrow. Excited to get it back ASAP.

will provide full update once i get ita nd drive around.

Picked up my 2010 FX35 from Headgasket, waterpump, timing chain etc job and so far so good... i even notice a little more power as they replaced all the gaslets and o rings and valve cover gasket... tomorrow i will take it on a drive to wash and cleaning as its filthy. i'll also clean up the engine bay as its also messy.
