The OEM tires aren't good in snow?
I agree 100% with you if the snow is only around for 2 weeks and the temperatures are above freezing the rest of the time. :smile (2):It was just a tought! It's important to have winter tires, i know but it depends on the wheater, because in the last 3 years our winter was gentle and lasted 2 weeks at most (with snow)...so for me it wasn't really necessary to buy them.
And when you do find them online, remember you have to get them mounted and balance at a local tire shop, so tack on $30-40. I just got new All-seasons today, I took a print out of my "cart" from discounttiresdirect(.)com and asked the local shop what they could do. The got close enough that I purchased from the local shop. Didn't have to wait for shipping and transporting the tires to the shop, etc.
Also, another note on snow tires, they don't last very long. I'd say 2-3 seasons (depending on your area's road, driving style, etc) they lose their effectiveness. Probably before that.
All seasons should really be called Three seasons, they are good until the real slippery roads get here, meaning black-ice and snow covered roads.my question is on teh FX50 i have stock 21". Are these good in the snow? we just got this SUV and plan on taking a trip up to PA during late Feb.
