hey, currently have the Michelin Eagle RSAs on my 07 FX35 with stock 20's.

trying to decide between several tires:
1) Yokohama Parada spec X
2) Hancook Ventus ST

and the tire place my family usually goes is trying to steer me towards:
1) Toyo Open Country HT
2) Toyo Versado

I'm still leaning towards either the Hancook or Yoko, but what would you all suggest? any experience with these?

thanks for the help!

BUY MY PARADAS! Still like 75% left and only 300 bucks!

Honestly, even if you dont buy mine, i'd say go with Paradas. They're cheap and one of the best tires going. I bet most people on this forum will say the same!

yeah man, your tire shop thinks you got a jeep or something

yeah, i've never gone to this place though my old Jeep did when i was in HS haha. my bro and dad go their for their BMWs. when i told my brother i was considering this place, he said "let me guess, they recommended Toyo?" i never like calling a place and having them only give me essentially one brand/option. i assume it's because it's the only brand they have for my car.

according to the guy on the phone...the Toyo Open Country HT and Versado blow away the Ventus and the Paradas.

may be they do, but for our FX model, the Paradas and Ventus have been THE BEST choices in terms of performance, longevity and reliability. so go with one of the two and stay happy...
285/50/20 this time perhaps?

having said that...which of the two would you personally choose? is there any real difference between the ventus and paradas?

other than the aggressive pattern on the Ventus, I couldn't tell. I have not tried the hankooks yet but have heard that it does very well all season long.
I bought used paradas that came with the wheels and i must tell you even with the 60% tread left, it wouldn't break traction on flooring the car while making a turn. very impressive.

nexens are good tires too

i passed Nexen before buying Cooper 18"s. I haven't heard a lot about Nexen, it might be gaining ground though...cheaper alternatives to name brand tyres..

I ran the Hankooks for awhile and loved them, quiet, grippy and comfortable. Running STII's now and they are stiffer and a bit louder BUT they have shorter sidewalls so its not an apples to apples comparison. Compare the write ups on Tire rack or 1010 tires and the Paradas and the Hankooks both receive the highest ratings on the FX. From my personal experience I would say go with the Hankooks.....

You would lose traction with a 45 ;)

You have to find the right corner and no VDC but after like 19 mph it's rwd. I have had my parents 45 kick loose in the dry and when it's wet. It's a totally different story, I have had it completely swing loose and had to fully counter steer. Have to be careful, never had our 35 completely side ways like our 45. Lol
