Best Aftermarket Rotors?

It's getting close to time for me to replace my brakes all around on my FX. I would like to get some different rotors and want to know what experiences you've had with aftermarket rotors. I'm looking to stick with stock size, as I just don't have the money to do a BBK. From what I've read, I think I'll be sticking with stock pads.

On my old Mitsu Eclipse we had an option from AEM to get a larger rotor kit that included a bracket to maintain the stock calipers. Is there anything like this for our vehicles?

Many have used the rotorpors and the stop tech stage 2 upgrade kit. Search for threads on each.

I like rotorpro so much that I have them on all 3 of my cars now. I first purchased them for FX... after that I fell in love with the quality.

I'm glad you said that cause I had to take advantage of their black friday special price on ebay. I am down to 2mm on the front pads :ehh:

They are pretty good quality. I purchased slotted & drilled configuration for the FX and slotted configuration for my other 2 cars.

I'm also sold on Akebono ProAct ceramic pads. I was a fan of OEM pads since they work good and last so long (mine lasted over 45k miles), but I don't mind a little less dust so I don't have to clean my wheels too frequently.

I'm just using what they come with (when I get it). I went for slotted myself with black centers (the custom color was free and I just picked black for lack of another color in mind).

Same...I got the Black Friday rotor/pads combo too from rotorpros. Did you get the Hawk Pads combo? I got the combo with black zinc plating too. The pads came yesterday and rotors are arriving today. Can't wait to see them. I'm gonna paint the calipers black too, so they can match the center zinc plating. Gotta do some sanding first though, so the paint comes out shiny. Will work on this weekend.

I didn't get the Hawk pads, after thinking about it I emailed them and they said too late. The funny thing is based on the email I received from USPS it shipped 2 days later (yesterday) lol:tup::tdown:

I'll use the posi quiets. Some say they suck and some say they work like OEM. Honestly I'll bed them in correctly and go from there. If they suck well then I guess I'll be changing them out sooner than later.

I have a lot to do next week. I'm pulling off the 22s and going back to the stock 20s. I have to install the brakes, H&Rs, and KYBs. Hopefully everything arrives by next wednesday!:.smile:

Dang, that's alot of work. I've never changed brakes or rotors before, so I was assuming that it'll take me the whole day to change 4 and paint the calipers. The pads took 4 business days but rotors took only 1 day to deliver, because I live close by them. Hopefully, yours will come in time.

I opened the box yesterday and the rotors look very sexy. The entire rotor was zinc plated, but they said the contact areas will wear out when they are bedded in. I wish the entire thing would stay black!

Good luck with your installs.

There is a DIY somewhere. It took about 4 hours to do all 4 the first tiime. Once you do it, it really only take like 30 mins per axle and you get apply the same concept to all cars. I did my accord brakes in 30 mins for all 4.

I just finished installing and the two most difficult, time consuming task was 1, removing the two bolts from the caliper bracket because it was on soooo tight and I didn't have air tools and not enough space to use a steel pole for more leverage and 2, the rear rotors were seized. Other than that, I think it is a pretty easy install, even for first timer like me.

use a socket wrench with a pipe as an extension (more leverage)

I will be doing my rears real soon also.

That's actually what I wanted to do, so I went to Lowes during install and bought a 2 feet steel pipe. But when I tried to use it, the space between the ground and the front bumper was too small for me to use even a two feet extension. I guess if my car was lifted, and not jacked up, this would have worked easily.
