VDC and SLIP lights - snow related

so, we have about 18 inches of snow and ice in seattle, and I threw my fx into the ditch last night (yes I was screwing around and totally deserved it.. ), My alignment is off by about 20 degrees on the steering wheel.

Also, the car was sitting sideways for about 20 minutes and its in the high 20's up to the 40's in terms of temperature.

now VDC and Slip light are stuck on.

I found a few posts.. and have surmised the brake fluid, cold temperatures and alignment can all contribute to this.. as well as some sensors..

**EDIT**
When I first started driving the lights were off.. as I drove around the slip light would flicker on.. a bunch. Eventually I got in the car after driving it several places and the VDC, and slip lights just stayed on. But the alignment was clearly off ever since I went in the ditch.

Couple questions:

Is the main issue the alignment or are their other things that would suddenly contribute to these.

Does tire pressure have anything to do with it?

Can I take it to a respectable shop.. or do you strongly recommend the infiniti dealership?

Can I pull codes with a regular ODB sensor (like the ones at shucks/skogen)?

If the alignment is tweaked, and I cant get it fixed before friday... is it going to mess up my transmission.. or automatic clutch plates.. seals gaskets.. etc etc ANYTHING if I keep driving until I can get it into the shop? Specifically to the mountain on fri?

alright.. newby out.

thanks.. uhh merry christmas, happy chanuka, etc

hey, sorry to hear! that's why i drive like a dick away from ditches and hills haha

i cant help you though...good luck!

well i had a similiar situation last week but hit a curb, but bent my rear lower control arm, and need an alignment, you def need your alignment checked out, and get those codes checked, for the lights, hopefully others can chime in and see what they say

thanks robb, appreciate it! did you take yours to the dealer?

something easy to try.... check the brake fluid levels (sometimes this caused the VDC and Slip to come on), maybe some leak out?

Sorry to hear about that. At least you can laugh about it. Nice jacket.

ps: I probably wouldn't be driving up to the mountains in it before you have it fixed. Although riding at Baker may be worth the risk.

"Took another sip of the potion hit the three-wheel motion"
gotta say it was a good day eh sunofICECUBE??

lol I didn't even have to use my A.K.

UPDATE on the situation:
tow strap to get the car out of the ditch $22
alignment at les schwab $88
VDC, and Slip lights went off all by them selves $0

first fx to hit the 3 wheel motion? PRICELESS!!!!!!

thanks for all the help, I did endup taking it to them mountain.. it sucked.. felt like the backend was unattached to the front and was being drug behind like a trailer swapping sides.

they said the left rear was way out.. the front left was slightly out, and most likely the computer was having a hard time trying to figure out how to put power to the wheels..

all good now, feels perfect on dry/wet pavement, and went to the mountain sunday, and it rocked.
