^ that's exactly what I did, worked like a charm. I love how they look

Really happy to hear that everyone is pleased with them! Some of you are reflecting that the stock ones are hard to take off. They are not glued or clipped in any way, so they could just be tighter than usual.

There are a few ways to pull them out other than using hands. Many people have found pliers to be useful. But please make sure you cover the pliers with thick tape or wrap the knobs with towel so you don't damage the stock knobs. Unless you don't need to keep the stock ones then you can damage them any way you wish. :bulgy-eyes:

Just got mine and they look great! I was concerned at first because the white plastic gear was loose in one of them, but as soon as i pushed it into the radio it worked fine.

A+++

Yes the pressure from pushing the knobs into the gear rods would expand the plastic gear to provide tension for the whole mechanism. :good:

1. Knobs look great! 2. Super easy to change out. 3. Amazingly fast shipping. 4. The container they come in is neat, not sure exactly what I'll use it for...but it's neat. 5. Great customer service in that Globe reached out to folks who expressed interest as far back as 2 yrs ago. Globe for president!!

Should the knobs have ridges inside of them like the stock knobs? Mine don't and I had a slight problem this morning when it was cold with the knobs "catching".

I have the same problem. I'm going to separate the plastic gear inside, put a small dab of super glue in there and then I think it will be fixed.

I noticed that also on 2 of my knobs as well

I don't think we should have to "fix" anything. Either they work like stock or they don't and shouldn't be advertised as such.

Hi everyone,

I've been getting numerous messages regarding the issue of the plastic core separating from the stainless steel knob, as many of you have also mentioned here. I spoke with the shop that produced the plastic cores for me, and our conclusion is that the plastic core material we chose, while flexible and is very suitable for this core application, is too sensitive to temperature fluctuations, causing it to shrink over the friction tolerance.

What's gonna happen now is that I will be developing a new plastic core. We will be testing numerous different materials for the plastic core, ensuring that they are just as easy to install, and at the same time stand up to temperature changes and maintains its size and integrity. I estimate that this process will take about a week. As soon as the new core is tested to be fine, I will immediately ship 4 new cores to everyone who has purchased the knobs. In the meantime please continue to use the knobs.

I'm really sorry that this has to happen to everyone who are the most eager to get them. I promise that the solution is coming next week, and everything will be handled to your satisfaction. Thanks guys!

Thanks Globe! Good thing I haven't used my super glue yet

The new core will solve the problem once and for all. Like Sideswipe mentioned, you guys shouldn't have to fix anything, so I'll definitely get these new cores made for you guys ASAP.
