So I was putting pics on the Cadillac forums of the FX next to my wifes CTS-V. Some of you have seen it since its on here too, its a beautiful car. Then I get attacked over not driving the V and having my wife drive it everyday. I retorted simply that the V is awesome and too much fun for me everyday, my costs of modding and breaking things would be too high, also that the FX is fun as hell to drive too and is its own monster. The guy responds that the FX is just an SUV and that his wife had a durango with a Hemi and that being over 100hp shy of the V means it basically sucks to drive....
I let him have it... I think most people have no concept of how well the FX runs, or that 320hp in a small V8 with AWD and 20's means the damn things moves and never loses traction whatsoever. I pointed out the the Dumbango is over 1k lbs heavier for about 40hp more which equates to exactly shit. I attempted to make him understand that riding the FX was comparable to a sports car on 20's and that the speeds I take freeway offramps and green lights are testimony to that. I told him that while I loved the Cadillac, it is not nearly built as well as the Infiniti which is much more refined and tight, better quality almost everywhere you look. Ill even go so far as to say the exhaust on the 45 sounds a lot better. Furthermore, he hasnt even touched the FX50 yet, and if he ever wanted to educate himself, a test drive in that would likely contribute to a new frame of thought.
Not that the FX is a racecare by any means, it just isnt an SUV either and people who look at it as a Durango have lost their damn minds. I have let a couple friends drive it on occasion, one of them is working on getting an FX50 now. I think Infiniti should have an FX50 day where they let the general public drive it in order to spread awareness
. I mean, everyone knows the V is a fast car, but people really see the FX as like a Mazda or some shit.... smh.
