Best mod for the Butt Dyno?

OK... Ive done some shopping over the past month... I got an injen intake on its way... transgo shift kit.. got the parts for the e fan mod coming... New bulbs for the driving lights and hids for the fogs also 25mm spacers.... Next on the list is exhaust... thinking about just getting the stillen.. Want to get a custom tune after I install everything but I'm not seeing any shops in my area I would want to trust.. Any chance some of you chicago folks can get me into a good spot in the spring? I wouldn't mind the drive down to get it taken care of as long as they know there shit..

Also looking at coil overs.. whats my best option out there without sacrificing the ride to much.. its already aggressive, don't need my insides to shake loose.. :-)

Thanks guys

I know a very good shop around Chicago area! They call it Andy's Garage! :) :)

As far as coilovers, I can get you some BC Racing coilovers(you can order custom spring rates at no charge also).

  Andy's Garage?
12kg spring rate is most ideal on the FX45. I have 12kg in the front with a 10mm preload. Not harsh at. Love how this setup rides. I think I can still go another 5mm preload. There are times I feel the front is a tad bouncy.

+1 on the front spring rate, makes a huge difference in sport without sacrificing quality, best way to describe it is "BMW firm".

I'm gonna trust you guys on that spring rate.. Gonna order them sometime this month..

Any chance you wanna help me out with a chip Andy? Is it the unichip? I'll pay your for services rendered of course.. Just want someone to do it that has already played around with it... let me know!

If thats directed at me juan3268.... no... I am going to unpatiently wait until spring to install all this stuff...just starting to stock pile everything up in the basement so i can do it all at once..

If you buying a new Unichip. Aaron @ Unichip will program it for you. Once you get it, it simply plug-n-play. I can lend a hand if you need me to. As for springs, you can't go wrong with 12kg in the front. 10kg rear is good. You can take mine for a test drive if you comes to Chicago.

Oh sweet thanks! I wasn't sure if those were a plug in play or it needed some tweaking. I'm capable of doing a lot of things but I don't like to mess with tuning.. I had a mishap with my M3 and it cost me a lot in the end so I said I would never play with it again lol. We used to have an AWD Dyno within 5 miles of my house but he jumped ship after the fast and furious trends fizzled out.

As for spring rates, I like your analogy with the BMW, I had H&R coilovers in my Bimmer and loved them.. aggressive but didn't bounce/shake your guts like some of the guys had on there hondas and stuff here back in the day.

I will def. make one of your guys meets this summer.. I used to drive down for the Euroteknik meets. did a couple car shows with those guys. Chicago area has a lot better car scene than we have up here.. I look forward to meeting some of you guys!

Interesting D, I was driving to pick up my daughter and spotted a 06+ 45. I had to look twice, I forgot how nice those wheels looked (really wish I had kept mine). You won't get much for them, if you do upgrade your wheels and you can keep them as a winter set I'll support your choice!

Did the best possible breather upgrade I think I have ever done in my life today....

This is actually a little embarrassing... I have had this vehicle for a few weeks now and I just thought now to take a look at this.. had some nice weather today and did the drl led and HID fogs... glad I did cause I discovered this.. I can't believe this hasnt been changed..

You and me both..... How in the hell did it even get that bad... I don't think it had ever been changed.. It was an OE nissan filter, unless the original owner went to the dealer for all oil changes ect...

What a diff. it made though... You can really feel the diff. Woke her up thats for sure!

Wow, that is nasty! To me, that's an indication of poor maintenance by the previous owner. I'm concerned now, you may want to just do a full service on your car now after seeing that.

Find the lightest wheels and lightest tires you can and drop 10 lbs/ corner of unsprung weight. You will really notice it.

Keep it simple, low and wide, maximize your gearing and go with GTR's. Slightly lower profile tires, better unsprung weight on each corner. You Will feel the difference.
