Might be a long shot but has anyone used the adapter for the new iphone5 connector ?
i usually just listen to pandora on my iphone in the car...just wondering if anyone used the adapter for the new connecter yet.

or does anyone have any info on when theyll release a iphone 5 plug for the fx?

the bluetooth syncs up just fine btw.

Those adapters are not coming out to apple stores until October...I believe October 11, but I could be very wrong, but definitely October.

due for an upgrade but holding out for the iphone 5s which is rumored to be out in 6 mos and comes with another adapter to work with the one for the iphone5.. thanks apple.. :good:

I have not read that rumor. Usually at the very earliest it would be 1/2 year something like that would come out after several confirmed rumors from sources. Having not a single popular source mention it makes me think its 1-2 years away.

I haven't read any rumors of that either. I would assume it will be out in about 1 year though based on the typical releases of previous models.

i was meant as a cheap shot at apple :smile (2): .. but seriously.. if you look at the trend apple is going with it's iphone, next year would be another iphone model.. if we survive dec 21'st..

I heard the adapter doesn't support analog data so it may not display track/song info on the nav screen in our cars. I plan to buy one and I'll post the results.

Somewhat related, my old iPhone 4 with iOS5 would often not sync Bluetooth when I got in the car. I had to go into 'Settings' on the iPhone and then it would reconnect. My new iPhone5 with iOS6 connects every time with no problems.

I dont think the adapter is gonna work for audio- its just for charging. At least thats my understanding from the other iOS thread.

Update for you guys. I got my lightning adapter yesterday. I have a 09 FX35 so it has the older style dock adapter and no streaming Bluetooth audio so I was really worried this wasn't going to work. I was using the scosche adapter with my iPhone 4 before and it worked fine (except for a noticeable whine which became quite annoying).

The controls work fine for the iPhone 5 when using the Infiniti cable to the lightning adapter but it doesn't charge. When I put the scosche passport adapter in the mix, it charges but it won't allow me to control the iPhone...argh! Essentially I have the choice now to either just have it charge when needed or remove the adapter or use the controls.

I have heard good things about the CableJive dockStubz adapter and would like to hear some feedback from others that are maybe using this with a lightning adapter.
Keeping an eye on another thread…would love to be able to convert my dock connector to a usb plug like the newer model FX’s. I knew I should have bought an 2011!!

I just switched out the iPhone 4 cable for the new Lightning cable that connects directly into the USB port and everything works the way it used to. Not sure if the connections are all the same or not, but everything works fine so far, with full control of the iPhone through the car's controls. Hope this helps...

I've have tried the lightening cable and the lightening to 30 pin connector and they both work as well.

I think we both have the issues since our fx doesnt come with a usb port, only the proprietary infiniti iphone plug.

I bought the adapter yesterday and it didn't work :(
i only use the iPhone to play pandora but it didn't work ....
I don't have any songs on my iPhone I will test it later tonight

I don't see why the Nissan propritary connector couldn't be converted to a female usb connector to connect the usb lighting cable or any other.

I'm sure the parts could be bought from infinitiusa.com.

just a little update,
so the adapter does actually work..
still no charging as the infiniti cable didnt charge my iphone to begin with

Ipod music : WORKS
PODCAST : WORKS
PANDORA : DOESNT WORK.

good enough for me for now.

iphone apps work for me, such as spotify, which is where all my music is. Also says the song/artist playing and can control everything from the steering wheel.

dockStubz with the $40 apple lightening adapter cable works for me. Charges and integrates to the entertainment system. 09 fx35
