just the 20% front tint for now. should get my 20' gloss gunmetal f-14s in about 6-8 weeks...and is pondering if I should smoke out the taillights in the meantime. but under most of the circumstances, the red shows a really good contrast on the blk body... :bulgy-eyes: painting the vent and panel strips are on the list too after the rims are installed.

Don't tint the tails it looks cheap and cheesy on black. There is no contrast at all that way.

Best options would be to "slightly" smoke them making it a dark cherry red instead.

That's exactly what I did. 25%-35% tint

I agree with everyone, dont black out the tails, light smoke looks clean

Yup. Monotone is mono easy, coming up with a more "dimensionsl" color break plan looks better put together IMO. Please post pictures of the ape when you have a moment!

The F14's are going to look dope but how come you didn't go with 22's?

thanks for all the feedback, guys! that's what i had in mind. just a slight darkening of the taillights...but i might opt out of that option since the red looks really good on the black. I think im just really itchy to do something to the ride while watching my pocket still.

rip, yup, a lot of thinking went into this..the 22's would totally look awesome. the other one i like are the CV-1s (and it just seems like it's got to be in 22's to really shine). but this is after much consideration of the ride comfort, tires, etc. but most of all, i would just like to have something that looks more aggressive on my daily commute vehicle without having to touch on the suspension and deal with the cambers for now.

Put up pics after you get the wheels, looking good so far man

Hi guys,

I just purchased overlays for front/tail lights from Andy at blubatzmobile. does anyone know a good installers here around the LA area? I've contacted a couple of shops here, but they said the lights for 2nd gen fx is pretty hard to do. Please let me know.

thanks!

Hi guys, need your quick input on this one. as previously mentioned, i have placed an order with Charles for 4 deep concave f14 rims. However, I've been searching online, and see that most people have semi concave on the front, and deep concave on the back. all 4 of my wheels will be in 20×10 295/40/20. What would be you guys' suggestions on that? any input is much appreciated!

Sounds like your ride is going to look great Look forward to pics.

finally got my car back after a week! Here is the fx after having the side vents, lower trims painted, and the chrome around the windows vinyl wrapped.tumblr_maxpzvm1DR1qhyatuo1_500.jpg

Happy for you man!

But to be honest I'm not a fan of blacking out all the trim or chrome. It really took away from the lines the FX has. I think it cheapens the looks a little bit. It reminds me of how when you get those base model Honda civics and you get the matte black plastic trim and handles and what not. In order to get the chrome you have to pay more. Too each their own.

If it were me I would of done the vents and lower side trim in like a dark gun metal. There's just no contrast blacking it out.

I totally agree with Aaron as well

Thanks for the feedback!

I wanted them in matching gun metal color as my rims that are being made at the moment initially, but could not get the color code from forgestar. The only area that really bothered me were just the plastic side vents, and i figured if i didn't like the vinyl wrap around the windows, they can always be taken down.

Whatever you like bro...that's all that matters because at the end of the day, if you ask 20 people, you'll get20 different opinions. :)
