Is it just me or do I see a Hyundai Sonata?

The front, the sides, the rear. What!?

You know, when I test drove the FX the first time at the dealer, it reminded me of the Hyundai Santa Fe because of the hood styling. I actually had a bit of reservations because to me it resembled a Hyundai so much but Kim talked me out of it saying it does, but I had a big problem with it. Now this.....I'm wondering if they have the same exact design team, which would be a big turn off if Hyundais and Infinitis would look similar like the how ford and mercury was, ford and lincoln right now...sure they were different, but they have a lot of similar body work characteristics that is very evident and this seems to be falling into the same category. Almost like Hyunday is the base line of infiniti not nissan.

I am honored to be one of the INfinitiEV insiders. You have to see it in person and again, it is a concept. The lines flow better in person than in pictures. The idea of a luxury EV is needed and I am excited to be one of the first to give and get feedback for Infiniti on their LE Concept

I was also honored to meet a lot of the Infiniti Execs, the designers and the one and only Carlos Ghosns.

Wow. That is an undeniable resemblance. If the Sonata had the Infiniti grill I would say it was actually better looking. I don't care much to be honest - I'm not looking for anything like that. It seems that at the very least they have taken some design cues from Hyundai on this one, which is a little unsettling. Hopefully its coincidence. A huge blatant coincidence...

I think I saw a semi with one of these in it, or some other future Infiniti vehicle. It was all black walls on the trailer with two light blue paint brush strokes like Infiniti likes to do. Also, Hyundai copies all the other brands so I like to see someone get back at them.

Not bad at all. The idea of a luxury EV from Infiniti sounds great to me. Can't wait to see this is person.

alright, so everyone can stop comparing Infiniti to Hyundai, look at the Infiniti concept Emerg-E (in the latest Autoweek mag).... now THAT is a looker!!!

I would love to know the logic behind that plastic covered grill or if somebody really did screw up and nobody cared or noticed.

its a concept and its the icicle effect.
but
again just to compare, the reason behind the Infiniti LE Concept is that it really is the best looking electric vehicle out there. everyone is just comparing the looks to normal gas or gas/electric hybrid cars. And no other manufacturer is making a mass volume Luxury EV right now...

I hate to rain on the icicle parade, buuuuut:

1) Fisker Karma
2) Tesla Model S
3) Rolls Royce Phantom electric

If this LE is just a concept then it certainly can't count as a "mass produced" EV. As far as concepts go the Rolls is THE luxury EV, and in terms of actual production models the Fisker and Tesla models are easy winners. I don't see how this LE concept is groundbreaking or amazing at all. Its a Leaf with a Sonata body. Cue descending slide whistle.

I believe the Fisker is not truly electric, Model S is not (yet) mass volume, and I know nothing about the Rolls. :smile (2):
