Roof cross bars

I think that is what they're called, the 2 metal bars that goes across the roof. They were a dealer option for my car and I'm not sure how I feel about them. They look like an easy uninstall but does anyone know if it will leave any noticeable holes? Leave it or no?

The crossbars go side to side on the roof rails which go front to back. They unscrew easily. The holes in the rails can be capped with screws. Clean and easy uninstall. Railless, that's a little more difficult.

I think their ugly its why I haven't bought them. Ruins the looks of the nice sloping roof line and takes away the sporty appearance. Only reason to purchase them IMO would be to put like skis on and other stuff if you travel.

I agree with Fire0nic, I say leave it unless you need them for ski's, snowboards etc, but if you have no use for it don't buy them

Any idea as to what screw is recommended?

Is there a demand for these, just so I know whether it is a waste to sell these or not?

I'll be sure to make a writeup for IS when I take them out

It too bad. I was looking for a set earlier this yr for months and finally ended up buying a set off eBay. They were the wrong color ( Limited edition graphite ) so I traded Dwayne for his silver ones. I probably would of paid you $100-150 for them, plus I'm in the same state as you.

I got mines as a " freebie " throwin when I purchased my ride and I'm hoping to use it often next year when I go skiing yaaaay :smile (2): throwing my skiis in the back isn't easy since mines are faily long !!

I have a set of silver 09+ cross bars that I will be uninstalling in the next few months if anyone is interested but not in a rush.

Hello everyone,
Been reading the forums for quite awhile and pleased to find a place where such informed peeps care about the best car ever... I recently purchased a black 2012 FX35 (my fourth Infiniti) had 2 QX4s and also currently an EX. Absolutely love the FX, as you all do, but a quick question about the crossbars...

I got a set off Ebay but after installing them I noticed they are different color then the rails...After looking around the forums, I see that there are silver and limited edition graphite bars?? So my question is, what color are the factory rails? Silver? Because now I want to get another pair of crossbars to replace these. They are darker than the rails so I assume I recieved the graphite bars. Researching all around I can not seem to find what color the rails are. Basically just want to know whick color the rails are considered so I can get another pair of matching bars.... Thanks so much for any insight.

The bars come silver stock, the graphite bars come on the limited edition fx, so you def need to send those back and get the silver ones

Thanks for quick reply,

So basically I need to get a pair of silver cross bars to match huh? Thats what I figured but the bars I got match the factory rails and bars on my EX so I thought that the darker color was considered the silver color. The guy I purchased them from had a 09 so not limited edition. Do you know if they used graphite on previous years and EXs then changed them for 2012.

I just dont want to order a new pair of silver and end up getting the same ones I had....

I just went around my neighborhood where there are a few 2nd Gen with crossbars and you know what? They all have different color crossbars than the rails! So is there a possibility that Infiniti only makes the crossbars in one color that does not match non LE rails?

Can someone confirm with a 2nd Gen non limited edition that they have bars the same color as their rails? If you dont then I can put an end to my craziness with these bars. Thanks

limited editions are black graphite crossbars to match the dark gray rails

non-limited edition FX's came with crossbars that are a medium silver color..

2003-2008 FX's came w/ a black roof rail and crossbar standard, aluminum was the option wiht the sport package

I have silver cross bars for a 2nd gen if you want o buy them.

The removal is straightforward, you need an allen wrench.

I do see what he is saying...they don't exactly match perfectly with the roof rails. And removal requires a torx-head wrench, not a standard allen key.

Thank you all so much for proving that I am not crazy! Based on your input, I Did purchase the "silver" crossbars b/c according to da mayor, the graphite are blackish in color. The pic you posted looks like mine that I installed exactly. I guess Infiniti just really dropped the ball with these cause it appears they are just using the bars, or at least the paint, as the ones for the EX cause they match the EX rails and bars. So Im stuck with unmatched rails and bars which really pisses me off. 50K for a car and I cant get $300 bars to match? Unreal...

JBaker, thanks for the offer but if your bars look like the ones in the pic, I might as well keep the ones I have. But thanks again.

da mayor, you work at Massapequa? I purchased 2 QX4s from there years ago. Nice dealership and I believe John Ippolito was the salesman, doubt he is still there. But being on North Shore now I use Manhasset.

I have a set of the silver ones I would get rid of. They were loose in the rear when I bought the FX. Some one hosed the torx screws off on the top of the rails and the 8 screws are missing that attach them to the roof rails. Also looks like someone attached something to the rails and over tightened them on the passenger side which caused a crease in the bar. I think they were switched out personally from another FX as the mats that were in the vehicle were pretty ratty looking for it to only have 4K on the ODO. The dealership replaced the cross bars with news ones and replaced the mats with news ones as well. The funny part about the parts robbing was they took the rear cargo slush mat out of another one to seal the deal. Like robbing Peter to pay Paul to get the deal out the door!

part number is G3805-1CA0001

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE JUST CONFIRM IF THEIR BARS ALSO LOOK LIKE THIS PIC. WHERE THE CROSSBARS ARE DARKER THAN THE RAILS? Now Im confused b/c I passed an 09-11 yesterday and theirs was the same color. So, I am thinking that Infiniti changed the rails for 2012 to a more lighter grayish silver but did not change the bars...which still match 09-11 rails? Is this correct? Does anyone know?

Yes, they are the same color as whats it the picture above. They match the roof bars that came from the factory. Light Silver. (Not the official color, just my discription of the color) I got new ones off my deal as the old ones were trashed.

G3805-1CA00-01 is the part number that's on the box. Label discription is: Cross Bars. All hardware comes with the kit. They installed them pre delivery as I was not leaving and going back to get it done. I took them off now and have them back in the original box as I won't use them unless I'm pressed into doing so. Keeps the car looking cleaner.

They do not adjust and are stationary once they are screwed into place. Meaning they do not move for and aft on the rails already on the vehicle. They give you a small torx "L" shaped wrench to install them. The screws do not look they they can take the constant on and off if that's your plan as the screws seem to be very cheaply made. Whom ever had the set I got or aquired when I bought my FX they were abused. The roof does not reflect any damage so I'm guessing someone swapped them out as well like I said above.
