looks pretty straight forward. going to do it now. thank you!!!!!. just so afraid of over cook my headlight.

dont worry. just put it on a piece of wood and not directly on the over grill. should be fine. make sure you turn it off once its pre heated... and if it hard to take apart, put it back in for couple more mins

Opening the headlights in the oven is much easier than you think. The thought is frightening, but once you do it, you will be like, "that was easy". Most of the members here have used Krylon Fusion spray cans to paint their housings. Also, if you do open and paint them, make sure you take apart the projector lens and upgrade to a clear lens. I just did this last week and it was easily one of the best mods you can do. The look of the headlights are 10x better than OEM lenses. I love driving at night now.

^^
I know the post is old, but where did you get the clear lens for the projectors? I was planning on opening up the headlights to paint the inside black and also add angel eyes, so I figured why not do the clear lens upgrade to.

Thanks for the link! do these install simply by removing the old lenses and dropping these in? or do modifications need to be made? Also, I'm not sure what this means, it was in the description in the link you posted:

*Please note: we have replaced the FX-R clear lenses with our TSX-R lenses as of 8/2012*. THESE WILL NOT FIT FX-R PROJECTORS!

Will these still fit my 2005 fx35?

Also, after putting them in the headlights do they need to be adjusted for proper light output and direction, or will that take care of itself since the fx35 has different height outputs for the headlights?

Also, do you all recommend the halo/angel eyes by extremedesignz, or are these worth buying also:

You can still use the TSX-R lens but if you just drop them in the cut off will look like garbage
If you use the TSX-R you will need to cut off the outer shield and space the lens out with some cardboard spacers

Ok thanks, if I got the fx-r lenses then I wouldn't need to cut off anything or use any spacers?

Is there any DIY or guide on the forum that shows exactly what I need to cut off on the TSX-R lenses and how exactly to make the spacers and how to install them? Also, can I just buy the spacers that are being sold for an extra 5 dollars on the link above that la_fx35 posted?

sorry for all the questions, just trying to get all the info I can before I actually try this out.

Nothing on the lens itself. But once you get the lens off, you can see the cutoff shields in the projector. There is a round part and a curved part. Then there is a v shaped part in front, cut the v off.
