Rear Parking Light and turn signal Wire location

I cannot win with this mod. New problem, when headlights are off and i use turn signals, all sidemarkers, DRL, and both signals flash. It operates normally when headlights are on. What do i need now? It was working fine before.

Hahaha, where did you ground the add on LED strip? If you ground it to the ground wire from the rear taillight control module, take it off and ground it to the body. Just make sure you rub off the paint to get a good ground.

Ok i will try that. I hope it works. I did ground it from the module. Out of curiosity, why would it make a difference and do that? Don't all grounds go to the chassy of the car? Could this really be the problem?

I found out that the "ground" wire is not ground to the body. I found that out when I install my Europe taillight mods. I got hyper flashing when I ground it to the ground wire on the controller module when my brake light is off. It flash normally when my brake light on. I'm pretty sure it will fix your problem once you ground it to the body.

Well, i grounded to the body and its still doing the same thing. It goes to normal when I disconnect the turn signal wires. As I stated before, it only does this when the headlights are off. It makes all lights flash, even some of the interior dash and climate control lights. I dont know if its backfeeding or something. Do i need a diode, or is there another source to tap into the turn signals? I'm starting to think the extra LEDs on the circuit is affecting the module or something. I have no idea.

Im grounded to chassy, i scraped the paint and screwed it down. The white wire for parking lights from both led strips is wires to left taillight sidemarker light, and for yellow wire, i wired to rear combination light module. I wired to wires u told me to in earlier posts from the diagram u had posted, orange pin 4 and ourple pin 5. I dont know what could make it do this. It was hyperflashing for a day, then it stopped, and now its doing this.

I dont want to have to run 2 wires from front turn signals to the back. But this is my last resort.

I will get back with you later this afternoon.

Here is the taillight control harness. Since both of mine FX are 03, the color scheme is different the the 06+. Verify these wires on your. I did a test on mine and no hyper flashing. I tab the Parking light wire to the positive wire of an LED strip that I have lying around, ground the negative LED wire to chassis. All my ground are grounded to chassis. Hope this helps. Just make sure you know which it the + and which is the - on the LED strip.

yes, the purple and orange wires are the ones I tapped into for the signals. I'm going to just try a diode, because it seems that its backfeeding, If that doesnt work, i'm disconnecting the turn signal function.

Oh so, the turn signal is hyper flashing? If it is, not sure how to fix that. For my Euro tail, I had to cut left & right turn signal off the harness and wire the signal to the LED that I have designated as turn signal on the taillight housing. I also have to cut the green/wire on the 03-05 harness (the light green wire on the 06+ harness) and put a 470 ohm resistor and ground it to trick the taillight controller box to think that the turn signal still function to prevent it from hyper flashing. Since you're not parse out the LED in the taillight assembly, not sure how to go about that.

No, the turn signal isn't hyper flashing. When I have my headlights turned on, everything is fine. But if my headlights are off, when I use my turn signals, all lights on the car flash with the turn signals. This includes parking lights, daytime running lights, interior climate control lights, and both tails flash as if I have my hazards on.

Yes...with them disconnected, everything is perfectly fine. I added an inline fuse cuz i get nervous messing with those wires. I dont want to blow the module. So you think a 12v diode will work ?

Well I added 4 1N4001 diodes (from Radio Shack). One to each wire. And it works!!! Somehow, it was backfeeding, and the diode fixed that up. Hopefully it doesnt reoccur. Again, I would like to thank Andy for all his help. He went above and beyond to help me with my problem. This is what a forum is about! So hopefully this thread can aid someone in the future if they needed.

I will try to get a video for you. Unfortunately, the strips dont function as it does on the website. The design of the LED strips no longer allow it to flash back and forth between amber and white, the newer design only allows it to flash amber/off/amber/off.
