Can't decide on new tires

I had a brand new set of 4 of these tires:

Those are actually the ones that originally came with the car from the factory. I was happy with those tires which is why I bought them again. I have 42K on mine and their starting to get slightly noisy and bald. I was originally going to put them on the FX, but my friend bought them off me for his MDX because he was seriously in need of new tires and didn't want to pay to have them shipped. So now I have no new tires anymore.

I figured this would be a chance to choose a tire that's even more quieter than those. I was looking at these Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires that everyone on here just seems to love:

Question is are they quiet and are they going to be even more quiet than the ones that came on the FX??

As much as I care about handling and traction, their ability to ride very very quiet is my #1 priority. And they need to have a good wear rating. Any recommendations or comments on the Yoko's?:confused.:

Tire size is 265/50/20

Thank you!

Try Costco. Costco offers can't be beat! Life time spin balance, rotation and road hazard warranty all included in the price and no susprises either. You won't be nickled and dimed to death. Co-worker bought from NTB and got saddled with all the fees and the wife had a blow-out. They refused to stand behind the tire. I've never had an issue with Costco. They have the OEM tires and the Michelin. I'm a Michelen person and have gotten many happy miles off the touring tires. I priced the tire rack and Costco still beats the prices! Good luck.

as long as u buy a mainstream tire, not a club tire cuz then ur gonna be stock with the "oh, those are only avail at costco or bj's" ordeal.. i sell tires for a living, i should know a thing or two lol

My off road buddies buy stuff from onlinetires dot com (stupid noobs can't post links) - they have really good deals on most of their tires (I work for a tire manufacturer and their prices blow my mind sometimes).

Did you grab the Yoko's? If so, what do you think of them?

I have the 265/50/20 Yokohoma Parada Spec X and have been very pleased with them. I have 18,000 miles on them so far and they don't even look like like they have any wear on them or very little. I would buy them again.

yoko parada's are really good and ride very well also.. a few other tires i would suggest are the bridgestone dueler h/l alenza, yokohama envigor s321, kumho solus kl21 or falken ziex s/tz04.. these are all very nice tires, with good warranties and reviews... just a suggestion on my part

mbarb...I know you are in the biz...

The alenzas are more of a truck tire to me. And the falkens seem to get noisy as they wear. The new Envigor seem promising. What's the difference b/t them and the paradas?

the alenza's arent really a true truck tire but more of a touring suv/cuv tire like the kum kl21.. they have a mild all season rib-like tread and ride very comfortably.. the falkens and the yoko parada fall into the sport/high performance genre so they are gonna be a little noisy but provide good traction but also wear a lil quicker due to the softer compound in the rubber.. they both have a funky/sportier look/tread pattern versus the others.. the yok envigor is more of a high performance touring tire.. its got a sporty tread but also more touring type feel n ride.. it has great reviews and the wear is great on them..

I ended up buying the Yokohama Parada Spec-X and they are much much MUCH quieter than my stock Bridgestone Dueler tires. What an amazing difference! They also absorb road impacts alot better. Since these tires are quieter and softer though it has given up some of the handling abilities that the Bridgestone Dueler tires had. But hey you can't have both. I'd take a quieter softer ride any day over better handling. It's not like I track with it or abuse it anyways so handling doesn't mean too much to me.

Damn, the Envigor is about $50 more a tire than the Parada Spec-X on Tire Rack. Also listed as a passenger tire as opposed to a sport truck/SUV tire. Explains the softer and quieter ride qualities.

the O.E bridgestones are the HP92A which are not bad but they're an OE tire (no warranty, wears like shit and priced up the wazoo).. the dueler h/l alenza is their premium grade touring and is built to wear better and ride better than the o.e tire.. just in case ur confusing the 2.. Bridgestone and dunlop have an agreement with infiniti that certain models of their tires were specifically built for the fx and will come on most fx from factory.. most car manufacturers often lock down a few specific tires (brands/models i.e.. bridgestone, dunlop, continental, michelin, etc..) to be included with their cars for when they ship them to the dealers.. alot of them are of inferior quality versus most aftermarket replacement tires and dont come with warranty.. .. in most circumstances any aftermarket replacement (non-OE, in the same speed rating) tire is gonna ride and wear better than an O.E tire.. its just the way most manufactures build these things..

the envigor is more expensive than the parada spec x but the parada spec-x does not come with a mileage warranty and the envigor comes with a 60k miles warranty.. but they fall under 2 categories.. parada being a high performance sport suv/cuv tire and the envigor being a high performance touring tire...

MOST crossovers use touring type tires.. Lexus rx's uses michelins mxv4 s8's or pilot hx mxm4, same with bmw x3 and x5 and others.. mostly cuz the quality of the ride like u mentioned...

another piece of info that most should know... on the side of ur driver side door there should be a sticker (placcard) where they list the manufacturer's suggested sizes, load index and speed rating.. and accordance to that u should buy a tire with that specific load index or higher... if im not mistaken the oe 265/50r20 bs dueler hp92a comes with a 106v load index/speed rating.. so as long as the tire ur purchasing has that specific 106v load index or higher then it doesnt matter if its an suv tire or passenger car tire.. its more of user opinion and what kind of driving ur doing with ur vehicle that will determine what tire u should get... hope this helps :)

no problem!, there's soo much more info about O.E. and aftermarket tires n applications, i can damn near write a book. i just hope it makes sense since i typed it on the fly...

My understanding is the FX50S bridgestone all season tires are pretty much the only option (there are those summer ones too) but that is about it right?

on the 21's, just bridgestone and dunlop only, at the moment.. that i know of... bridgestones are all season right, the dunlops arent.. pretty soon u'll start seeing alot of other manufacturers pop out some other options for that size
