Is the Tesla Model X a game-changer?

Nope, but it is good to see them coming out with multiple kinds of vehicles so they at least have the possibility of being a legit company. Reminds me, I still need to work on the ideas for their battery packs to make road more feasible with these vehicles. Trying to get an internship there this summer. :wink (2):

Idea #1: Replace the third row seat with a hydrogen storage tank +fuel cell.

Based where?

HQ is Palo Alto, so ~20 minutes west of here, and the Model S factory is in Fremont, so ~15 minutes north of here.

Can't reveal my ideas haha, but I have a feeling someone there already thought of it. I know part of the idea they are already working on. It revolves solely around batteries though.

If electric cars stood a chance this would be how. I like the sexy look and the performance 0 to 60 in 4.4 is impessive. Looks allot like the FX body style I'd drive it.

@Stu: let me know if interested. I have a really good friend who took a job there as a Noise/Sound Engineer. Not sure where your interest lies but may be a good contact.

Back to the ride, I have debated him for months on why Tesla = Fisker. At least until this announcement shut me up. I do believe this may be the game changer. I think this will have a decent market if that price point is for real. Really, why not? How many commute for more than 100 miles a day?

Stu, if you get a job there, let me know. Some photos from my last trip there.
Sweet pics Ed. I actually drove past their new factory an hour ago. I'm hoping to tour there once it's up and running.

Aluminum gallium alloy?
Haha you've lost me. My idea is more conceptual.

Thanks, can't hurt to check out. I'm a mechanical engineering student, so something more along those lines. I could see some sound being involved though.

The model S will be the real game changer/decider for them IMO.

Stu: if you get in, let me know and I'll add to your knowledge bank on a few subjects. You'll be a rock star on the first day of class.
Thanks, I'll take all the info I can get! I met with a guy who runs a silicon valley network so he knows lots of Tesla higher ups. He gave me some good things to look into that should set me apart in the interview.

For the IS Chicagoans:
Drove by the Tesla showroom on Grand this morning and saw sitting in the front display area, a huge white box/container with just 'Tesla' written on it in black.
Guessing perhaps it is the X?
