The mystery of moving driver's seat

This has been going on since new on and off on my 2010 FX35 , I have about 15K Miles on the car , now it's pretty much all the time.

Whenever I do hard braking, just before the car comes to a stop (that's when most of the g force is felt) the driver's seat moves a little bit to the front and goes back.
To prove I am not crazy, I asked my wife to drive the car the other day as hard as she could and let me know if she noticed anything strange.
She confirmed that it felt like the driver's seat moves a bit when coming to a stop.

I took it to the dealer, they claim they tested 5 other FX's they had (funny I did not see that many in the service parking lot) and said that this was "normal" for this vehicle. Funny enough, a lot of Infiniti TSB's for 2007/2008 G35/G37 mention this issue as a recall problem to be fixed by the dealer.

So, my question is , does anyone else have this issue ? Is this really normal ? Out of 15+ cars I have owned , none of them have ever done this, so I can't accept this as normal. This is actually quite annoying and I have to get to the bottom of this. The dealer is full of bananas as far as I can tell but I don't know....

yes this common on the 1st generation Fx's, dealer changed some part twice and still does it time to time, very annoying!

no but this has been a issue ALSO with the 1st Generation's, its not normal, poor part and/or workmanship.

My dealer tested the brackets some how to asses if it is a safety issue. It was not and no free replacement.

Others have gotten all the rails replaced for free.

given that you have a 2010, you certainly have some warranty left on your vehicle don't you? unlike us 1st gen guys who've been left in the dust with this problem, I think you should contact everyone you can at the stealership to have this issue addressed. I believe John said a long time ago it happens because of plastic parts assembled in there instead of Infiniti installing ones made of metal. You have a new car, let them know what you have to deal with. You shouldn't have to pay for this repair imo.

My 08 all of a sudden started to rock also...started looking at the seat mounting bolts to make sure they were tight and when I got to the back there was a plastic wear protector or shim lying on the floor. Managed to slide it back in and problem was gone. The dealer should be able to get these plastic parts from Infinity and replace them on both rails on the seat. Could be alot of work and that's why they say its "normal"

do you have any pictures? of that part

Just took my car to service. They will order the track for me. However, they said the rocking of my seat is not that bad. Mine moves when I brake or accelerate, but they said some car's seats move just by sitting on them.

I will take mine to another dealer , I complained to Infinity HQ and they said to take it in to another dealer for service.

We'll see ...

Got it done by the dealer (Regency). It is even worse than before. Before the fix, the chair only moves when I do hard stop or accelerate fast, now it rocks even when I am just moving my body. It moves when I do parallel parking, or getting my wallet from my jeans pocket. Going to call Regency Infiniti again.
I am very frustrated with all these issues (tailgate handle, passenger door not closing properly, moving driver's seat), which the dealer just can't fix or made it worse.

Wow that sounds like a very "competent" dealer... I'm in Ontario. I've been so busy I had no time to take it in but I will in the next few weeks. I wonder how could they make it even worse ?

i had the dealer replace the rails as well. Did not go away. Anyone remove the seat, themselves, to asses the problem? Anyone think it might just be the internal heat/cool system moving around and thumping the seat, giving a "moving" sensation?
