This is Berman infiniti service department of Chicago.
1224 N. Hooker Street. Chicago Illinios.
The video shows what happens to you car when you are not around.
One employee begins to search the center console of a customers car when another employee alerts him to the camera.
The would be thief halts his activity, calls another employee and makes a joke about it.
He then drives the csr into the car wash.

The dealership excused this behavior as the employee being curious.
The employee still works there.

That's why I always check for my radar detector before I leave. Nothing else worth stealing.

The real problem I have here is that car wash they are using. I thought it was a hand wash?

That is exactly why I never take my cars to the dealership outside the warranty. If you're lucky, one tech will know his head from his ass and the rest are just like you see in the video; Cheap labor. Such bullsh*t. I wouldn't visit that particular stealership even if I still had a warranty.

I only take it to the Infiniti dealership I trust and know the service guys and the mechanics, the sales manager, sales manager, etc. I leave everything. If something was missing....all hell would break loose and there would be several managers all over it.

That's where I take my car.... nice. I'm gonna bring this up next week when I go in for an oil change.

Can't wait for that thread update! You should plant a stack of random bills in some odd amount in the console and see what happens. Take a short video of you counting out your exactly $186 in random denominations just before you drop it off. :skull:

Waw! Every time when i go to our dealership i feel pretty confident in the services, they even have photos and bios on the workers on their website. Never had any complains, everything here sounds for luxury and money. May be because they are new on the market, but more likely they dont have a choice because BMW and Merc are very strong here.
In any case such behavior can not be tolerated in smaller countries.

I'll do one better.. My little nephew will hide in the cargo area and pop out at the right time with a flip cam and say "I got you".. :ninja:

I am at the dealership right now and just asked the staff to not wash my car because it bends my front license plate. Can't watch the video. Now I am gonna pay more attention if anythng is missing. grrrrr sucks to hear such things. Such a nice facility.

Just a bit off the topic, I avoid all of my dealerships like a plague. However I do have a funny story from last year when I took my BMW in, my mechanic was on vacay so I decided to bite the lip and take it to the stealership. I come back a few hours later, they bring the car up, the girl goes, okay your car is up front ready to go, she hands me the key, and I'm like that's not my key, she goes, it's not? You don't drive an X3? I'm like umm, no I drive a 3 series .... then it was an awkward pause. So they bring the car and it's filthy. I was like, did you guys take it for some sort of off road testing? I was done ... and all of my change was gone too LOL.

Someone should send this video to Infiniti Corporate and see what they have to say about it. If this dealership does not fire this employee maybe corporate can make a big deal about it.

Happens at pretty much ALL dealers.

I wouldn't even want them leaning on my car (to me that is disrespectful), yet alone going through something that doesn't belong to them with or without intent to steal. It's a violation regardless and should not be condoned.

I never let them wash my car either, I had no idea they were going to wash it when I brought it in to diagnose a exhaust leak.

They wanted $1100 dollars to replace a muffler and B pipe, I passed on that one.

I thought, no work done no need to wash it.

I figure this is how the thief does it:

One guy stays in the car while it is in the car wash where he is out of sight and can take his time looking through your personal belongings.

The first video had poor sound quality, It was hard to hear what was being said.
This version allows you to hear the conversation clearly and one of the employees warning the others not to mess with this car.

Even after the first warning, the nature of the thief is to steal and he did not miss a beat going for the center console.

It was only the second warning that got through to him.

I have contacted Nissan/Infiniti Consumer affairs and they have begun an investigation.

I will update when I know more.

Just wondering, is this your video? I want to know why either someone put a camera in their car, or why you did. Almost seems like you suspected them of this, and wanted to catch them in the act?
