Guy Wins GT-R Auction, Dealer Won't Sell Epic Thread

Saw this on my350 today, basically some guy bought a GT-R on eBay from Honda of San Marcos, and it was only $55k because I guess they forgot to set a reserve. Well the dealer didn't want to sell to him, so now he's getting lawyer, since the guy is in Alaska and the car is in Texas.

Thread is pretty cool to read and the dealerships FB page is getting trolled hard

OMG the comments on the wall and photo album on their FB page has me rolling! My neck hurts now. Apparently the buys from BB.com got in on it and they are just spamming it with hilarious comments.

I guess the Salesman that put this auction up on eBay is in trouble. He or she might be getting fired for the mistake.

Yeahh someones getting fired ! but dang ! 55k for a GTR im gonna tell my friend about that he wanted one but got an 2011 A5 coupe cause he said the GTR was like 80k :D
 
Well it looks like that dealership will be down in sales for a little while. High $50's for a GTR still seems cheap to me. 4k wouldn't be worth the hassle to me I don't know why the dealership will just let it go for what the kid got it for on eBay.
 
^ An opportunity for amazing marketing and they F**k it up. "Amazing deals, we are practically giving cars away....."

That's the same thing I thought because if the asking price is 59k and this kid won it at 55K that should not me a big deal. Its not like it's off by 15K. It's about time a dealer got what they tend to do to many customers.
 
if a lawyer is getting involved you would think the dealer would just eat the cost and sell the car. or the kid would pay the extra 4k lol. lawyers arent cheap
 
good point. i think it boils down to principle, ethics, and pride at this point. i'd go out of my way just to prove to someone that they suck at life and are an idiot and have to admit that to the public!

OP got a call from the dealership this morning and will hopefully call back soon. I think he is going to record it too.
 
Wow a 4k difference and the stealership is making itself look like a fool. I think they'll loose a lot more in the long run
 
If they end up giving this guy the car for the price I bet they will try to get him back possibly giving him a real high interest rate for the loan if he gets one. Or possibly come up with some hidden fees.
