Intro: ONEighty aka 180Custom & what we did to a One-Bad-FX

Whats up guys, since we haven't been able to truly introduce ONEighty aka 180Custom to the forum, here's our shot at it.

My name is Igor, and I run this company with my best friend Alex. It all started off with us messing around with Alex's G35 sedan when he first purchased it in 2006. Within weeks we stripped his G35 for shits and giggles to only realize how bad we itched to make it unique and stand out from the rest. Fast forward to 2 years later and his sedan was the first in the world to sport a COUPE front end conversion, while I started a company in modifying headlights on Infiniti and other luxury brands for locals and forum members across country. Along with establishing a G35/37 forum (G35NYC.com) for the Tri-State (NY, NJ, CT), it helped us get up close and personal with other drivers and learn what a true car enthusiast really wanted in terms of cosmetic personalization and customer service. With my attention to detail, I strived to provide top of the line cosmetic modifications that most local, and even some nationwide shops couldn't provide.

Once Alex graduated from college, we partnered up to take the company to another level. Our goal is to provide guidance and resourceful information for those new to the aftermarket scene, while offering top notch cosmetic and minor performance modifications. We contend to bring you guys our taste of what we think a performance/luxury car should have looked like off the showroom floor. From minor headlight/lighting modificaton, to fully blown out custom orders that make you stand out from the rest.

I go above and beyond to study and learn the latest trends and styles, while mastering certain modifications to its science. Mean while Alex upholds a honest and professional customer service and satisfaction that brings the company and the customer to a personal level. If Alex don't have an answer for you on the spot, its simply because he doesn't want to blow up your expectations and then not deliver accordingly. Unlike other automotive customization shops, we understand our customers/clients needs, and we treat everyone the way we would want to be treated.

With that being said, please bare as we construct a detailed thread of services and products we'll be offering to this community, as well as future projects and products we have in development.

Our services are available for mail order, and locally. We try our best to stock OEM parts so any work can be done prior to deliver/arrival of the parts or cars to speed up the turn around process leaving you with little to no down time.

Let us introduce one of our 2nd Generation FX builds we recently did for a local forum member.

As stated earlier, our jobs can vary from one specific part to an all around tare down and rebuild of cosmetics, suspension, brakes, wheels, body work, and fully custom interiors, the only thing we do not specialize in is custom sound systems (yet).

This is one of our mild overhauls, expect a lot more to come as we move into a facility that will allow us to take full advantage of our skills and resources.

This overhaul features:

• Shaved Roof-Rack
• Factory Aero Kit
• Powdercoated wheels (Color-coded face, shadow lips)
• Shadow window trim
• Shadow fender vents
• Shadow rear emblems
• Shadow side skirt molding
• Shadow & Color-coded grille
• Color-coded door handles with Shadow keyless buttons
• Color-coded trunk trim with Shadow "INFINITI"
• Color-coded headlights with Shadow accents, dual Orb LED rings & projector lens swap in the turn signal

Future Modifications:

• Lowered
• Low-profile roof antenna
• Shadow see-through taillights

• 22" wheels - sleek/subtle design
• OEM Akebono BBK
• Overhauled Lighting (HID/LED Bulbs)
• Alcantara suede pillars & headliner

And I can't go without a full blown out photoshop after every shoot

Came out really nice. I like the shadow accents & the halos a lot. Kinda wish I did my tail-lights like that b/c I had a hard time finding a place that'll do inspection stickers this yr.

Awesome work!The FX looks mean as hell! I think if you choose another set of wheels you should stick with the ones from the last picture.
Quick question: how do you guys dealt with the holes from the roof rails? I have tried to search a clue in the pics but it looks like it came that way from the factory (which is great).

Thanks for sharing Igor! I'm not a huge fan of Halos, but they do like nice. I would be more so interested in strong LEDs surounding and going all the way around the housing from the inside. Kind of like the Audi's, but curvy and all the way around. kind of like this, but more bold:

I must have not. I remember a thread about the Porsche led projector lenses, but nothing about LEDs in projectors for the FX. Do you have the link to the thread?

I like these style of LED lights too, the strip style lights in the front fascia as opposed to integrated within the headlight. Would be a much simpler bolt-on style of mod as opposed to having to rip your headlights out, send them in to have them modded, and not be able to drive your car while they're out. Plus I imagine a strip style LED like this would be cheaper.

Anyone see an FX that has these style of LED's installed on the front fascia anywhere? A link to any threads would be helpful

Unfortunately the customer bought the rims prior to visiting us, he ended up spending a fortune... wish we had the chance to make a suggestion.

The holes were welded and the roof was resprayed, you can probably get plugs but it wouldn't look as clean.

I understand, the Halos aren't for everyone, I personally like them in some application, the FX is definitely one of them though.

We originally wanted to run LED's along the bottom curve but due to the insufficient room it wouldn't look right, or just simply out of place especially using the LEDs that we use. We refuse to use pre-manufactured flexible LED strips most companies sell because they don't last for longer than 5-6 months till a few LEDs start going out.

We're in the process of testing various OEM style LED strips that can be attached to the bumper, but it's difficult finding ones that look like they came like that from the factory unless you buy the OEM parts from a Porsche dealership which are easily over $1K. I promise to have something available to purchase that can be installed in a DIY fashion within the next several months, we just want to make sure that they look very clean, feature bright factory white LEDs and not some 6000k cool white LED's, at the same time be as durable and functional as OEM parts.

That is great! Exactly what I've been searching for and haven't found....you nailed it. Especially if a solution can be found for the OEM bumper, I'm sure there would be many of us all over it. I look forward to what you develop in the coming months!

I agree with you 100%, OEM style LED strips that need to be decent quality ones and not cheap pieces of garbage that either aren't bright or fall apart. The flexible cut to length strips don't look very bright, look cheap and won't last long. But at the same time, no one wants to buy them from a Porsche, Audi or Mercedes dealership and spend $1k on them, that's for sure!

Finding an OEM style LED strip that's easy to install DIY and fits well on the bumper of the FX (1st and 2nd Gen), that looks good, is bright and durable, yet doesn't cost a ton of money would definitely be right on the money and something I'd be very interested in. I look forward to hearing what you come up with, and I'm sure there are a LOT of members on this forum who would be interested as well!

+1, I've also been looking for that exact same thing with no luck. In fact, I used to own a coupe and was looking for something for that as well, again with no luck. I'm sure a LOT of people would be all over it in a heart beat!

Also, depending on the form factor of these strips and if they are tailored specifically for the FX or not, they may or may not be able to fit on other vehicles too, which would really increase the number of people wanting them. I know I was looking for the same thing when I had my G37 coupe and couldn't find anything then either, if there were a solution like this available I'd have bought it for that as well.
