NavTeq is having a sale of $50 (regular $149), so it only cost $99+shipping.

So now is a good time to upgrade your DVD if you want, ends this month (July 2011).

So for my version, the latest is 6.9 (different for different years). I have 6.7 currently and the differences are:

"Thank you for contacting Infiniti. For version 6.9, Infiniti has added 176,000 miles of new verified roads, increased to over 251,00 points of interest and updated
detailed coverage in 35 cities and counties through out the U.S. and Canada. The update for your Infiniti would only update the points of interest and map data.
The software in your vehicle would look and function the same."

Anything to me to make this navigation "better" is a good thing. I had the original DVD from 2003, and I needed a program disk to update the software to read the new 6.7 disk.

New versions come out every fall I believe.

actually talked with service manager about this Monday!

he said it's on sale because they are about to release a new map in about a month.....probably July 31/August 1. I guess they typically lower prices before the new one comes up. So if you want newer than 2010-2011, and pay extra $50, you can wait a little over a month.

Bought the update disk, installed it and it sees addresses that the OE disk did not, I am pleased. The discounted price is a bonus!

Is this the same disc the dealer sells you?

Is the disc only good for one vehicle or can it be passed along?

Yes.

Can be passed along, it's a DVD. You can take it out and put it back in -- not being sarcastic, but just explaining. Many DVD's work on different model Infiniti's. Like G35, QX56, M35, M45, FX45, FX35, etc..

Guess you just have to buy it new?

No. Used typically comes with the program disk too. Sometimes you don't even need the program disk depending on what version you have, you might not even have to update the software.

Much easier if you just call the website I listed....

Brooklyn says, "I got the 2010-11 Navteq Infiniti Nissan Navigation DVD v7.6 if anyone needs pm me."

Why is there a difference in version if you don't mind me asking?

Each navigation system is different. Newer ones have newer "computers".

Check out the website I initially posted, www.navigation.com

03-05 cant use 06-08 version map disk . see website as posted by Chedman13

btw , you can see what version you are running by ejecting it. The disk is located under the passenger seat. You will have to move seat all the way forward

Not necessarily, some year FX's need a software update, which is the program DVD you put in prior.

I have a dealership connection that I got my real disc 6.9 for $95 after taxes. if anyone is interested I can ask him when I need some parts.
