This spaceship has been in our coral all week. We'll have it for the remainder of this week. I'm still not sure what to think of it. It drives pretty nice, but it feels really heavy. It doesnt have that throw around feel of the FX. Honda really missed on this one. They had a good idea here, but added a huge snout & ergonomics are a bit funky. They should have made it more for offroad, cuz it's got a decent MDX chassis. Handles good, but a bit too soft.

Some angles work, others are complete fail. I'd rather drive an FX

still trying to absorb their designs (with the exception of the acura TL type-S), but the zdx is trying too hard to compete with the X6 :tongue (2):

Agree.
They really screwed up inside too. No sport shift on the stick, & paddle shifters that rotate w/ the wheel. The car just doesnt seem thought out. Im not even that impressed by the 3.7 motor. It's about as quick as the FX, but the shifts are granny & I feel very little control of the motor. My '01 MDX feels smoother even though it's smaller at 3.5. Honda just seems confused

I'm not thrilled with any of Acura/Honda's latest design exercises. The Accord Crosstour is worse looking, at least the ZDX is a little better. 2003 FX design > 2011 Acura ZDX design. In a few years, the ZDX will really look out of place I think. :alien:

How about the head room, a co-worker has one, I like em, its just that grill looks out of place probably because it stands out maybe black it out or color match but not saying I would use it as a loaner knowing that my fx will be back, but it is something new, being that is a honda you aint going to see no v8 in it.

Head room is good up front. Not in back.
This is a loaner from Acura. They have my MDX in there getting a new tranny. I was able to get a goodwill warranty on the tranny. Really amazed that they did that. I have to pick up the labor, but they're paying the parts. 10 year old car, no extended warranty, & very little service records outside of warranty repairs & TSBs. Tranny at the dealer for parts only is in the 4K range. I'm still scrathing my head on this one. & since I got corporate involved, they're gonna give me a 3/36 warranty on the new parts. Maybe they thought I might buy a ZDX or something w/ the good gesture . . who knows, who cares. I'm keeping our MDX for at least another 3 now :smug:

My maw-in-law just picked up a '11 MDX and it's awesome. Very different from the FX but sweet in it's own right. I think the ZDX looks alright from the outside but I agree that they went way too far in the right direction. I would understand if it was the first crossover or something, but in a world where the first gen FX design exists (and has existed for 8 years now), manufacturers need to play hard or go home. This design looks half cooked.

Half cooked is right. It just doesnt come together. They have good hardware here, but couldnt close the deal on this car. It's essentially the new MDX underneath.

Sure would, but it'll never help this profile.
Sooo ugly from the side
