Automatic Folding Mirrors

Finally got this working. A custom unit was made using relays and a timer and adapted to the switch control panel. Not hard to install. The hardest part is finding a 12v source. So far i've had it for a good 2 weeks with no problems. Car is driven daily. My friend has it on his GT-R for a month now with no issues.

Let me know if you guys are interested. Ill put together instructions and get some units ready to ship and get a price set.

Since it is custom made no responsibility will be taken by the manufacturer for incorrect installation of the unit. Installation should be performed by a competent and qualified individual.

heres a pic of the unit with the top off.

Heres a quick video i did with the iphone. Starts with the ignition on. Ignition is then turned off. I get out of the car to show the action of the mirrors after ~15 sec. I then get back in and set it to ACC. Mirrors unfold. Then i shut it off again. Mirrors fold in after ~15 sec

I've been looking for something like this how hard is it to do? The reason I ask is cause I have poor wiring skills.

Depending how comfortable you are with wiring something up, id say its easy. All you really need to know is how to locate specific wires, cut, splice, and/or solder depending how you wanna do the install.

There are 7 wires you will deal with:

1. 12 volt source
2. Ground
3. ACC (accessories)
4. Mirror Close
5. Mirror Open
6. Signal Close
7. Signal Open

3-7 are all on the same harness as your mirror open/close switch. There are numerous bolts behind the switch that you can use as ground. The 12 Volt source will have to be brought up from the fuse panel located just under the switch in the kick panel area.

I'd like to do this but am wonder how well the motors will hold up to the constant use. I start stop my car about 30+ times a day.

Where in So.Cal are you?

Very nice - I would really like to do. If you're in So. Cal and would like to make a few extra bucks I'd be happy to hire you!!

Ya like FX45beast stated, you can put a bypass switch on the 12 Volt power line and turn it off whenever you like. Manual open/Close will still work. But honestly, if auto will be on a switch then why make it auto in the first place? You can already fold them manually from stock.

Edit: Im located in Monterey Park.

Interested to buy

I'm really interested in your mod.

Any chance I can pay you to get 1 ready for me?

Appreciate it:wink:
