FX with Tints in NYC

aiya, do you have an infinitiscene sticker on your rear window? just curious.
I do not...I moved twice (once within the same building) since I received it in the mail and it's still buried in one of my boxed I've yet to unpack. Believe me, I hear about those boxes enough from the wife too. :sluggish:

I was curious because when the cop sees the sticker, I'm sure he has a harder time believing that you do it for your mother, kid, etc versus behind the performance enthusiast type.

Be careful out there. I've been stopped three times in the past three weeks JUST for tints. They are really cracking down lately.

The last three were:

Second Avenue and 120th street in Manhattan. Two cops in their Interceptor 3 scooters followed me for a few blocks before lighting up.
Eleventh Avenue and 40th street in Manhattan as I was making the turn to get to the Lincoln Tunnel. He was standing on the corner watching cars as they queued up at the red light.
Northern Boulevard and 154th Street in Flushing. A patrol car driving around saw me randomly and made the stop.

I managed to miss two other checkpoints, one of which I know for sure was looking for tints:

Eastbound Houston Street and the on ramp to the FDR in Manhattan. I was coming off the FDR going west and saw the checkpoint and ensuing traffic. Might have been a general stop looking for DUI/DWI. Took local roads back uptown and caught the FDR at 34th Street.

Thomson Avenue and the entrance to the upper level of the QueensBorough Bridge in Long Island City. There was a slight slowdown and I saw a cop standing in the middle of the onramp waving cars through individually...in his hand was clearly a tint meter, I went straight and circled back to Jackson Ave for the lower level.

Aren't tints considered fix it tickets? which means u would have to go to a precinct to clear the ticket after inspection by a cop.

Thanks Aiya for the locations.
