2010 Navigation System

Just got an "urgent recall notice" from my Infiniti dealer! The recall was for the 2010 FX35AWD Nav2 system.
I had the car 2 weeks, went to the dealer for a minor item, and was told that they were upgrading the Nav system, due to the recall, at that time, and would do it then and there, while I waited. About 45 minutes later, it was done. The nav system now works much slower, and hangs up on maps, slow to change. So, since the dealer has sent the recall notice to me a month after the "fix" I'll bring it back to find out if this is to be an expected result.

I have 2010 made 11/09 and all works great No info about recall recieved yet

HAd it done in Dec. Had some problems with the system freezing in Jan once, and no other issues other than the Nissan/Infinti's NAV system sucks. My 4 year Garmin maps are better and my $200 Garmin works better.

In DC, the NAV traffic was not worth the extra fees either.

I was wondering if the new Navi would fit in the older models, but for that price...I'll just build a Car PC.

Pick up a 2010 fx35 awd on Dec '09. I myself didn't receiver any recall notice on the NAV. Do u have the bulletin or official letter on hand?

Just picked up my 2010 a week ago so im guessing i have the new update on it? Either way, it is working just fine with no problems so far.

Apologize in advance if I do not write in the subject. However, maybe someone knows, whether how to replace by myself navigation maps, does not resort to officially Dealer

Buy new maps DVD online ,it is about $125. Then put it into dvd drive,and go to map settings and select update ;-)

Pretty much that is it.

You can't buy a DVD and update it on the 2nd gen FX. Our 2nd gen's are not DVD based, their hard drive based. You must purchase the update from the dealer, then they use the Consult 3 machine to start the update. So YOU MUST GO to the dealer to do this if you want the update.

Oh and my dealer quoted me $299 to do the update which is crazy lol.

I am not saying you have to keep DVD there all the time. You buy DVD with map,update it in settings and you no longer need that CD. My dealer told me so . HMmmmm. .... WEIRD !

I never heard of this. Besides I see nothing on the settings menu on the navigation screen that gives you an option to start a navigation update if you had something in the drive slot.

Here is how it looks on mine. And yes dealer was correct,it can be updated with new maps DVD

Here is step by step :

1)Go to "INFORMATION MENU"

2)Go to MAP UPDATE menu

3) Then press DVD UPDATE

4) It will ask you to insert DVD with new maps

5) Enjoy your updated MAPS

Ahh mine does have that =[. It's cause you have the 2010 Navi and I have the 09 navi =[
