It was allot easier than I thought it would be the whole install only took 2 1/2 hrs.
And the fact that the FX's have no adjustments other than toe in makes it a breeze.

wow awesome write up man! you just inspired me to do this over winter break

one question though, you said that we only have to adjust toe on the fx. how do we do that after installing springs?

great write hopefully this will encourage the other guys on the forum to tackle this project on there own because it is not difficult at all. considering what shops will charge for this.

Just would like to add in case anybody is planning on tackling this... please do not disassemble the strut assembly without a spring compressor.

how does it ride? better or the same?
I'd say about 30% better in ride smoothness and handling.
It's like a new ride:tup::tup:

having that spring compression tool is key - did you have that or the guy that brought the on-wheel rotor lathe?
My buddy's spring compressor.

yeah, adding to what jeff has said, the spring is under a lot of tension & can really hurt or even kill under the wrong circumstances, if your not comfortable with & have the correct tools to safely compress the spring then don't go hurting yourself either to save a few hundred bucks... if you try to remove the center strut nut without anything holding back the stored energy of the spring then it can & will release with enough force to def do damage...

nice. im close to pulling the trigger on a set of eibachs. but not looking forward to the price of install.

If you drive to Baldwin Park to Street Image, labor is only $120 and they do quality work.

Nice write up John. when are you going to post pics of your FX lowered?
