Also remember, messing with your cluster will void any and all warranties you have on your vehicle.

Wow I was actually thinking of doing this too. Saw a cluster for $600, thing is... I wont be able to do it myself and I can only imagin who really knows how to do it, and how much they'll charge. Good luck.

Anyone know what would happen if you plugged an 03-05 cluster after you added the extra power wire?

Speedo seems to have failed so want to plug in my 03 cluster back in to see if it's the cluster or a speed sensor.

most likely the trace is just open in the original cluster & it would be fine to just plug it in, but to be 100% sure you'd have to check the circuit board or at least cut that wire or remove the terminal for now, better safe than sorry :)

Convinced me to now just plug it in and try it, don't want to ruin a $900 MSRP OEM piece:)

Dang cluster why did you fail on me!:)

Will be sad going to the OEM 03 one, it will be so dark.

So just the speedo part stopped working only? I feel partly responsible for this.... :balanced:

You are definitely not responsible. It just failed on its own. Was working until now. No big deal will put in old one.

Yeah just the mph/speedo doesn't work. Rest is perfect.

I did a search and some nissan clusters have failed, and just the speedo.

You can by OSB2 bluetooth reader from dealextreme, and get Torque for android phones works perfect with samsung galaxy S. Then you get a great speedo and more in the phone display, and if you add another app you can get the speedo in the front window, like on screen.

I use this one and it works great in my infinti fx50 2009.
