Hey guys well i have been searching maybe im a nub dont know but has anyone done an intelligent key upgrade on a 05 FX? and if so do u guys have a parts list?
 
the iKey came with the tech package, so you would need to upgrade a whole lot of stuff. In short, Im sure it can be done. No one has to my knowledge, cuz in the long run its just not cost effective

I have the 2003 FX35 with tech package, think to up grade the i-key also.
the intelligent key just like a match box hanging on the chain..

can i up grade the big bold one to the silm one like 2006 and up style?
how much around for it?

It has been tried before without success.

People have tried, it's possible but takes a lot of time. I only know one person who went through the trouble.

Long story short, not an easy mod.
 
Are you talking about the keyfog? Cause if thatsthr problem you could buy one of those slim ones, take it to a infiniti dealership and they can program it to work with your FX. When I got mine I asked the dealership if they could do it. They said yes. In fact they gave me they keyfog for free.. I just paid for the programing. $180.00.

key fob?

Key's have chips in them and some universal ones will work. The I-Key is different and only certain I-keys work. The newer slimmer I-keys do not work with the older Boxed I-keys and the dealership cannot make this happen.

Bro it's a computer chip.. They will load all the info from your FX into it so the new one can work with your FX. They did it to my FX so don't tell me that is not possible.
 
Rubare, the chip inside the 03-04 fx models are completely different then the 05-present. The dealer cannot change out these two. You have a 05 so you have the ikey and if bought another one they can reprogram that one to work because they are the same computer chip that just needs to be reprogrammed. This is not the case with the 03-04 and 05-present models.
 
Oh crap.. My bad... I guess... Wait now I'm confused. I used to have a the big square one.. And now I have the oval looking one..
 
My guess is that since you still have a 05 you still had the newer ikey circuitry that could be reprogrammed into the new ovel shaped key fob and not the older 03-04 board.

But can you tell us what happened to your square key fob? And why it was replaced with the newer oval key fob by the dealer? You do have the tech package correct?
 
I just didnt like the square one. So I asked the dealership if I could have the oval one and they said yes.. The only thing I would have to pay would be the reprogramming. And I said ok.. I got rid of the square one.. And yes my FX have tech pkg Dr.2k.. It just odd since I went thru that I thought it worked the same with all FXes.

I'm sorry if I confused anyone out there..

do you have to insert key to turn ignition? my guess is no.

mine is the same way , btw I have the oval ikey

Careful what you wish for. Here's the scene - I'm driving and my wife has the key. Wifey needs to stop at the bank. I will wait in the car. She gets out, walks three feet and the car beeps like mad. Wife curses, digs through purse, finds key and throws it back in the car. This has played out MULTIPLE times over the last year and a half. I miss my key.

the beeping will go away. I once drove home w/o a key! of course the car will not start if it gets turned off.
 
So back to the topic.... If SCFX has an '05, long story short, he can do what he wants as long as he has the tech package.
 
he needs:

the push buttons on both front doors and rear hatch
antenna in the side mirror for unlocking door
antenna inside to unlock ignition
new ignition switch
"box" that ties it all together
ikeys


and what else....



way to much to upgrade IMO
