Wheel selection!?

Hey guys!!!! I need some advice. I am contemplating powder coating my rims black like the rims below or going black with a red lip!!! I was just curious to see what your thoughts were considering I have a white FX and I don't want to make the wrong chose for the "Storm Trooper".......

Any suggestions would be great!!!!!!!:.smile:
 
How about powder coat black with a white lip and while you are at it paint your calipers black. If not calipers if I owned a white FX that is the way I would go.

I like the scheme but I think I would want to go with Yellow Calipers to offset the black....... My ultimate goal is to have it painted Matte White with all black trim re-done Matte Black!!!!!

I all ready priced the paint and it's looking like 3k with labor for the paint :eek:... But thats for another thread!!!!

I would like to do something that no one has done yet. I even thought..... Maybe Blue lip Time attack...
 
that can't be just for the wheels though, no way... maybe that's doing all the shadow moldings too, still sounds high... your going to do all the lowers matte black? hardly worth the effort, won't look much different from what it does now, gloss black would be nice if you don't want to do body color, which I think would also look nice on the IP...

Whatever you decide it will probably look good, but with a blue lip whats your plan to to tie it into the car, I mean anything else going to be blue like the lights, tint, door handles, etc. Sounds interesting, I love getting away from the norm. I don't want my load looking like anyone else either, its the details that count.

I seen a white fx with white centered 22's with chrome lips on the highway & it looked so sweet... spinning so couldn't tell what they were, but looked real nice...
 
I love the look of anything white on darker wheels, but I think the pics above are more about the car than the wheels. For me the next level is to tie those wheels in with the car, either with the calipers color, lip color, center cap color or whatever. I can't wait to see the end product. I think the photoshop guys would lend a hand if you need some help with a rough draft preview.

a 3 piece with body colored lip & black center would look HOT but pretty agressive too, if you pull off the look with the rest of the truck looking pretty agressive then yeah, could look sweet.

those first rims pictured are the rims I just put on my fx... if your going to go that heavy duty in $$$$ then maybe think about a staggered setup like I did, will def add to the agressive stance & tie in the body colored lips well...

This is kind of what I was talking about, like the GTR setup. Except orange would be white.

A very good friend of mine has a bmw 650i with staggered black wheels with huge white lips. On his car it looks sick.

Here is LeBron's bmw with the idea of what Im talking about. Its a repair, but maybe a little wider/thicker color line, but you get the idea. ///4978

This would be sweet for any fx. It would be a nice accent.
