ok so when i got get my FX dynoed on january 5th with some G guys, they said they will have a cipher and will advance my timing for me. one question is that i have 89 in there now, but i am going to use premium from now on with the cheaper prices and the +2. just wondering if having a mix of 89 and 93 will be bad? i dont know if i will have cleared out all the 89 by then or not. i think i have roughly a 1/4 tank now.

I'd just use 93, take advantage of the higher octane.. You don't want to be calculating if you're at 91 or not each time you're at the pump..

it wont harm it because you are goin richer
but if you where already runnin rich and down grade it would be bad
but upgradin is always good right ?:rofl::wink:

I dont believe in the +2 at all. The ECU will retard you back to baseline anyway under load. Just get a good tune.

i plan on using 93 from here on out, but i have 89 in there now. i bet it will average out to at least 91 when i fill up before heading up there.

well apparently the dyno day is moved to the 17th now so more people can go. will have to wait until then. at least i will completely on 93 by then.

The good part of +2 is that the power is felt more at the low range.. ECU retards timing at high revs, yes, but it doesn't retard timing at the low range.. IMO, it's a pretty good mod if you don't have access to places like TS or if you don't want to spend so much..

There was a loaner program that was offered months back....and I think Rookie does it, if he has the time

^^ that was me. Still have Cipher. Just didn't search for it after I moved from my old apt. I can restart that probably after I return from Turkey or I can sell it..

How do you know this?
FI, I had the +2 initially before my tune, & noticed pinging. Didnt like the sound of it at all

me 2. I want this done in the interim before I can get a proper TS tune.

Best of my knowledge, it's not needed. TS will adjust the timing that works best with your tune.

I have Cipher.. It can log a lot of parameters and one of them is timing.. Did you use premiun gas with +2? ping/knock is normal if you didn't use at least 91 octane gas..

It's never been run with anything but. Could just be our Cali gas. It's not the best.
So you can see or log the timing while driving?
