Change battery on Intelligent key fob?

Anybody here know how to pop these open to change the batteries? Mine seemed to have died and I have no idea how to open the key fob up without destroying it. I don't see instructions in my manual. I found these instructions for a 2006 M35 Key Fob online and I am assuming it's the same. I'm just not sure about step 2. I can't tell which slit they are talking about.

1.Release the lock knob at the back of the Intelligent Key and remove the mechanical key

2. Insert a flat-head screwdriver wrapped with a cloth into the slit of the corner and twist it to separate the upper part from the lower part.

3. Replace the battery with a new one.

Recommended Battery: CR2025 or equivalent

Any help would be great. Thanks.

process is the same....remove the key...you'll see a little slot....insert a flat head screw driver and twist to pop it loose...then using the same screw driver, move along the edge and continue to twist and pop the fob loose (the side that pops off is the side with the buttons_....once the cover is off, gently pop off and remove the board and the battery will be sitting on the other side...i believe the correct battery size is CR2025.

Ah thanks Dr. 2K. I wasn't sure and didn't want to start pulling. I got it open. Little bugger just needed an extra bit of authority!!

*Broke the inner tabs to my 350Z Key fob last time I started to DIY so I thought I check with you guys first*

I just replaced mine too. I make it a point to do it every 10-12 months. You can tell when it gets weak cause the range starts to decrease and the buttons don't respond on the first try.

I changed mine after noticing the key light on the dash flashing for a while when I turn on the car.

Just stick screwdriver into the slow of keyfob, twist and the case popped right off!

Man, I love you guys! This post has been very helpful

My spare key has been sitting next to the fridge and it's been sucked dry out of battery. I didn't know you can replace the battery!

ok i just popped off my keyfob and the battery as well as printed circuit board says cr2032....is it okay to use cr2025 that i've already bought?

dammit...bought a 5pack of cr2025 and now they're useless.

just to clarify for anybody interested, the I-key for 04's use cr2032....cr2025 are too thin and will not make contact with both sides.

Does anyone know what battery would fit in the Int-Fob Key for an 06'AWD?

Im seeing CR2032 and CR2025 Above. It would be great for a confirmation ...
