Infiniti fx45 with flowmaster 80 series muffler and no resonator

i have my stock tips on and they didn't have to butcher them. they just cut them off and rewelded onto the new pipes.

i like this mod and even better the $$$ cost... so from what im reading and from my mechanic running a new exhaust setup (Invidia, HKS, Nismo) does not really improve performance... is that true?:confused:

but i do like the sound the flowmaster is pushing out... all the other setups is gonna drop a bomb on my wallet but $300 i can prob dish out

but i would like to understand the setup here first for my car anyways;

hitwolf - installs an 80 series flowmaster (resonator deleted???)

chifx45 - beleives the part number is this;

but i have the stock OEM catback exhaust which is different from the flowmaster, at least from what i see

can i just get the flowmaster muffler and install it to my existing pipes? will i get that sweet sound that hitwolf has on his fx?

that is the correct part. the shop will have to chop off your existing tips and weld them onto your flowmaster as well as make or reuse your old hangers.

when i had it done, they charged me $130 for labor and it took about 2 hours. Love the sound

Amazon is having a 30% off sale on flowmaster

i got mine for around 70 shipped. awesome!

it should be interchangeable between the fx35 and fx45 for the flowmaster series 80 muffler single inlet, dual outlet, 2.5"

the flowmaster is a universal muffler and not a direct bolt on unlike the HKS, nismo, invidia, stillen, which are just bolt ons (some needing the tips extended). the shop will have to do some modifying and fabricating for the flowmaster to fit

^+1. I have the 80 series as well. Mine was $260 installed at my local muffler shop. The 80 series comes in many different iterations but the one we need is the same one shown above; Single 2.5 in, dual 2.5 out. It's a fairly direct replacement if you can weld.
