Question about Spacers

I am getting new brake pads installed so i thought i might as well get some spacers installed at the same time. i am still running my stock 18's and will be lowering them with H&R's (like Krayzie). this will tide me over till spring time when i can afford new rims (iforged or DPE). i am wondering with size spacers i should go with to make the wheels and tires (stock 18's) look more flush once i am lowered.

i was thinking 10mm all around...

Yes the oem off set is 40. Jeff is right 20mm should work out nicely without any rubbing issues. I had 15mm spacers with my TSW wheels which had the oem 40mm off sett and I still had room.

last night when i was waiting for a buddy to meet me i was checking out my wheels and fenders...maybe its because im using the stock 18's but it didnt look like i could 15mm or 20mm in the back without having it stick out a bit...

the front looks like 15mm would fit no problem and probably 20mm as well.

Actually, there is quite a bit of room on the top. And that is where you have to worry about rubbing issues and not so much towards the front and rear of the wheel well.

Is there an advantage or difference using the longer studs?

It is recommended that 15mm and over spacers use the longer studs and these kits do provide them. Once these spacers are on the original studs will be too short and you will have problems with correct fitment not to mention uneven stress distribution. It is for safety concerns.

20mm won't fit the longer Nismo studs up front. The lugs loosen up by themselves and the rim wobbles on the highway.

I took off 20mm spacers on the front and left the 20mm's on the rear and I'm havin no issues. In a bit I'm going to throw 15mm's on the front when I do my brake lines and see if that brings up any issues.

Also switching to Nismo lugs because they're steel instead of aluminum.

hey doc, do you have a picture of your TSW rims with the 15mm spacers to see how it looks?

thanks for the info cube.
