Ok I'm at the end. I have a 2017 Qx50 looking to put a catback exhaust on it. From what I've read the newer G37 Awd exh will fit but never really seen anyone do an install. I've contacted pretty much anyone i can find online for help with nothing really positive. All companies have told me is they don't make an exh for that truck or its up to me to buy it and try it. Only helpful company was Borla but couldn't guarantee fitment. Anyone do an install on this truck or know if it will fit.

I have the Borla muffler, like $159.00 from Summit. Local muffler shop integrated it with stock pipes. Looks cool from the rear, muffler is tucked, and 20lbs lighter.
Now it sounds like a boy car.

Do any of the other companies have Borla’s track record?

The G(S?) exhaust would be next choice, a real muffler shop can do the simple adjustments to make it fit an FX orQX.

Ive spoke with some cheaper companies but the rwd exh will not fit at all. Invidia is the best bet for direct fit from a g37 awd coupe. I may just pull the trigger and order one

A boys car? The stock piping is so small most catback I've seen are 2.5 which should free up some power. I've seen videos sounds pretty good when driving.

All those dramatic bends are killing flow, bro.

It’s sort of criss crosses through the muffler.

Left 20 extra lbs of infiniti metal on the muffler shop floor. I feel it a little, but the sounds are sweeter.

Borla wrote the book on sports mufflers.

My comment is in reference to the excessive pipes from the muffler heading towards the engine. The extra length and bends kill flow, especially the bends. Borlas nice. Had'em on another ride. Personally picked up the exhaust system right from their headquarters in CA. Super clean place.

Exhausts don't pick up much power on any VQ, it's going to be mostly for looks and sound. The RWD exhausts won't fit because of the AWD transfer case. But if you get an exhaust for the AWD G, it likely will only need the tips extended if that. Even if it's slightly more work, any competent exhaust shop could modify - just cutting and welding. I pieced together an Invidia exhaust for my '07 FX using the back half from a 1st gen version and the front half from the 2nd gen FX with a custom Magnaflow x-pipe in the middle. Other than having the x-pipe welded, it was bolt on.

I gained zero power from the invidia dual exhaust proven via dyno. I bought it straight from Invidia. I think it was Ramone (?) who I bought mine from. I told him "look, I'm going to buy it either way but tell me, should I expect to see any hp/tq gains at all from this?" and he said I might feel a little something. Cat backs are for sound and looks. My original was literally falling apart otherwise I might've left it alone though I do like the Invidia.
Now an improperly done exhaust could cost you power. Too many bends and unnecessary length is not desirable whether it's air in or air out.

2.5" pipes would be good. 3" would be better. Invidia are 2.25.
Small headers to slightly larger high flow cats or test pipes to slightly larger mid pipe(s) to a slightly larger mid-to-muffler back would be best (see Motordyne's site) and then in reverse for the intake side.
If you're going for looks and sound do the cat back but if you want to free up some power go with high flowing catalytic converters which will give you a more aggressive note as well and then go from there.

Found berks and kinetix HF cats anyone have exp w/ either. Back to exh ? Anyone know if the 370z cat back would mount up? Looks damn near identical

Well let you all know if the 370z370z exh bolts up. Fingers crossed it works just fine. Yah the kinetix are a little cheaper than the berks.

I spoke with Jason at Kinetix back when they used to field phone calls. He said they get there gutz from a source that they will not divulge because the cost and quality are +++. Other brands wanted to know. Had mine for close to 2 years (?) and no issues.
