Well finally got my winter projekt finished. It concerns the interior, i bought some parts a while ago but wanted to do it all at onces as i didn't want to take the dash apart several times.
The projekt contains:

* Blue LED conversion ( see more at the " I see Blue " topic from rookie )
* Paddle shifters from turbocad
* Relocating the OEM screen to overhead
* 7" LCD Screen at OEM NON tech screen Location
* Rear and Front view Camera
* Ipod Interface
* Parrot carkit
* Clarion Navigation
* Custom 2.5" LCD in the A-Pillars
* Clarion RGB Source commandor
* New “Audi” Antenna

The Led Conversion i started with taking the whole deal apart. It took me a while to figure it all out but am very happy with the result. Now just received a +06 cluster wich I will redo as well and mount it soon. Full detail on the “Blue Led”conversion

Paddle Shifters

The paddle shifters I had for a long time but was a bit afraid of doing myself, that is the building. In the end turbocad helped me out a lot and am very happy with the result. It really gives me the idea that it changes gears quicker when I use them. I like them a lot…!!

Relocating the OEM to overhead

As I have got the NON tech screen I wanted to relocate the OEM screen. Best option in my opninion still was the overhead. Found a “plug and play ”version in Japan but with a price of USD 1100,- I think they kinda lost their minds and lett a friend of mine who made my front bumper design make it.
After that placed a universial 7” LCD screen at the OEM location.

Here some pics of the production :ehh:

2.5"LCD's

Have seen in several Japanese tuningmagazines cars with extreme audio/multimedia systems. Here I got my idea from to insert a 2.5” LCD monitor into the a pillar like the cauges you often see in them. As I haven’t have any use for such cauges AND was surching for a rear view camera I found a kit wich contains bought.
Camera and a universal housing wich contains the LCD wich you can mount on top of the dash for example.
I took them apart and lett my friend redo the A-Pillars so we can mount them into there.
Needed 2 screens ( Left and Right ) so had two camera’s as well. So mounted one in the front grille. As you don’t often use the screens….mostly for navigation and/or DVD I thought it was kinda fun to see the road ahead of you like in the playstation race games ;-) so they at least can be used for some extra purpose.
Now I saw the new FX and seams that he has something similar wich I didn’t knew…..damn it…I thought I had a scoop………

Ipod & Carkit

Ipod interface I got a long time ago from OEM Nissan. So can’t do much with it but thanks to johnmax on the .org I figured it out and also allows me to play films/music clips on the 3 screens I now have.

The 3 screens I can control with the Clarion Source Commandor. Got the two 2.5”lcd on one channel and the mid 7” on another. Now with the 2 controllers I can choose from several sources and have something else shown on the A pillars while for example having the navigation in the middle. O I mounted them under the armrest for easy excess.

The Carkit and ipod dock from www.2point5.com I mounted into the upholders. Again for easy excess.

Audi Antenna

Final I hate the OEM antenna……it’s size…..it’s location. Friends of mine said why don’t you take it of and weld it…..but am not ready for any paintjobs. If I will do that then want to do the whole thing.
I bought an antenna from the current AUDI range models. Wasn’t very expensive so worth trying. Fits perfect and cuase I bought a frequency transformer from a firm in New Sealand I asked a connector from Nissan to Audi so it was plug and play.

Still not 100% sure about it but in my opninion at least better then the one i had.

In total it seams that there isn’t much done, but man o man what a wiring and work…..!! Glad it’s finished……on to the next mod….!! :tup:

all the mods are awesome!!!

however, I wouldn't put the screens in the pillars and such just for the looks and because it was in the magazines! I'm glad you found a use for them haha. Maybe if you get bored with the current use for them, you can find a program to connect them to that monitors your engine, so they would have the same uses as the real gauges but be high-tech because they are lcd screens! haha. but yeah, all in all, awesome work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nice work ray, good to see you actually finished your winter projects in the winter:laugh: I'm going to be lucky if I can start my winter projects come spring :tongue:

lookin good

Thanks guys...!! Jbaker it's not really that because i see things in the mags i want it right away. But as well as on this forum some people just have great ideas wich i find really cool and want it myself,but maybe never would have come to that idea if it wasn't for them. For example the Blue led conversion from rookie and paddles from turbo.
The LCD's can now play: Front view / Rear View / Navigation and Video Ipod.....maybe in the future a dvd or digital TV or such, but for now i have enough to play with :wink:

great mods Ray.

How about putting a FLIR camera on the front? :wink:

Don't you mean a "Furrrr"cam haha. I can tell you it is exactly at ass height so will definitly try it out in the summer :tongue:
