K&N Air Filter

Just installed a K&N Air Filter :winky:

I was averaging 19 MPG before install, going to reset and see if it helps or not haha

I've got a pretty heavy foot with the K&N and Ztube and 1/2" MD, I'm getting 16mpg right now.

I drive totally in the city and traffic so that's why mine is low. One little trip on the highway and it goes up to 16-17. Last tank when I made the drive down to the track I got like 17-18. My current tank I'm actually doing good since it's spring break and I'm not in rush hour as often so it's 16-17 now.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but i went ahead and picked up a K&N drop in and so far, i think its made a slight positive difference. I'll have to drive a little longer to see if maybe im imagining this or not.

I've been averaging 18.8 mpg (per computer, which is pretty accurate on mine) for city/highway combo. Not a real heavy foot, but the occassion does sometimes present itself. No mods to engine...

hmmmm....

Oil Analysis results with K&N filters show high silicone levels, indicating that the filter is allowing dirt into the engine. as long as you realize that you are doing this, and the corresponding lower life that will result, go ahead.

Since i put my K&N in mine went from 19-21 mpg, I don;t really us my 35's computer to tell me my gas milage, i log every fill with my ipod and it calculates my average gas milage and current mpg.
