JWT in El Cajon

Guys -

I've gotten JWT to make a POP intake for the 45. I have one currently on my car and I'm going to put together a group deal (I'm more on infinitifx.org and I've heard of issues in the past but I'm an equal opportunity guy...) but JWT would like to sell the intakes with a bracket. Is there anyone close to them (in El Cajon) with a 45 that could swing by so they could measure for a bracket? Please e-mail me (kieran at kieranlavin dot com) or PM me. While I'm talking about it, anyone interested? The intake works on my 2008 and I've test fitted it on a 2003 as well so it'll fit ANY FX45 out there. It sounds incredible and actually helps my fuel mileage when I'm on the gas more than usual... it likes to be romped on!

I realize this post might belong in the FX45 section as well but I posted here to try to find someone in SoCal with a 45 that could swing by JWT. Please let me know first though so I can let them know you're coming!

TIA

Thanks for the warm greetings. Unfortunately my friend's gallery is down (and has been for a while) so I need to use photobucket. My friend provides me with a gallery for free so I can't really argue. He's been having issues with his hosting company and recently dumped them so he's in-between and hosting e-mail and some other stuff on a makeshift home computer. In any case, you can view the developments as I got involved with the JWT POP and after I bought my FX in April here:

For those who don't have an account or don't wish to cross over, I've got a friend who's pretty good friends with some of the guys at JWT. I saw that there was a need for a quality intake for the FX45 and I have JWT products on my SE-R and am very happy with them. I asked my friend to request that they look into making an intake for the FX45. We took some measurements of MAF bolts and I sent them out and they sent me back a POP that fit perfectly. Took me about 10 minutes to install and I can walk ANYONE through the installation. Initially it gave me a tremendous MPG gain. I went from 15.x the previous tank with mixed highway/city with/without AC to 18.7 the following tank. As I'm driving more with the intake, I'm realizing the car actually WANTS to be pushed. It's like reverse psychology. The more I push the go pedal, the higher my MPG. That's not really practical all the time though (on my residential street) Anyway, a few weeks ago we had a meet in Long Island and I was able to test fit the intake onto a 2003 and it fit perfectly. It was a LITTLE more difficult to install it but that was only because the flexible intake tube behind the MAF was a little less flexible in the 2003. I still got it in there though without too much "influencing"

So now that we know it'll fit all FX's, JWT wants to provide a bracket to keep the intake in place. The intake doesn't flop around TOO much. I've had it installed in my 2008 for nearly 2 months now without issue. It's just added insurance to have that bracket on there.

Below are some pictures on photobucket. Humberto, I'll contact you via PM to discuss bracket testing (thanks for the offer) Oh, I threw in a picture of my FX to satisfy you guys until my friend gets the gallery back up and running. The car is stock with the exception of Hoen fogs and the intake. It's got around 4,900 miles on it right now.

Looks good...so its basically just the filter and the venturi ring right? looks like the stock resonators on the tubing are still there, some may want a resonator delete for more sound.

Thanks for sharing Kieranlavin. Pictures look good, but would like to see how this fits on all pre '06 models. What would be the approx. pricing?

Yup, just the filter/velocity stack. Yes, the resonators are still in place. I haven't really researched pulling those out yet. I don't think you'll gain much sound removing them but it's a simple plug. In other cars, an oil cap or something like that has worked. I haven't played with mine yet though

The last three pictures on the photobook are on a 2003 that I put it on.

Pricing looks to be somewhere around $150 but I think we can get in a group deal for somewhere around $135. I need to confirm with JWT first

Just wanted to give you guys an update.

I have confirmed with JWT an appointment to see them this Thurrsday at 1:00pm to test the bracket for the pop charger.

I will keep you guys posted.

Guys you are going to kill me.

I could not make it out there yesterday.

I work in the entertainment industy and we had a bit of an emergency and I was half wy to JWT when I got the call that I needed to come in to the Office.

I will try to reschedule for next week.

Guys -

I keep getting people PM'ing and e-mailing me about a JWT intake. There's probably 10-15 people looking to get one. Last August or so Humberto was going to go there and I can't even get a hold of Humberto now. Humberto or someone else - can someone get to JWT sometime in the next month or so? It's just to be measured for a bracket for their intake. JWT has an intake that'll work for our cars but they'd like to sell it with a bracket as well. Anyone with a 45 willing and able to get to JWT, please shoot me a PM so that I can try to help out all of the fellow FX45 members. I have their intake on my car as a test fit (with no bracket) and I love it. I know everyone else will love it too.
