Yes older versions have a 9006 bulb.

You can buy a HID kit, I recommend this one:
http://www.ddmtuning.com/products/DDM_35W_55W_Slim_Ballast_HID_Kit-101-0.html

The 35W H8 at either 4,500K to get close to OEM headlight color (4,300k) or 6,000K for a bluish tint (BMW HID look).

As far as I know, LED bulbs available do not put out enough light to be useful as main lights or fog lights. They might look nice and last forever, but don't throw the light far with the current products out there. Give it a few years and it should be an option.

Unless someone else has seem LED bulbs that put out more light than halogens or HIDs...

HID fogs was one of the best mods for me, it throws out so much light everywhere and works very well in conjunction with OEM HID headlights. Since they are fogs and aimed low, they do not produce glare for oncoming traffic, which is an issue with HID kits in OEM halogen lights.

awesome thanks for the suggestion chedman

1) 100% plug and play. Very easy to install, I use rhino ramps to get under my car.

2) you have to get the bulb type that your fog lights are. E.g. My fogs are 9006, so I have to get 9006 HID Kit.

Show so pictures when you're done!

AWESOME!! Thanks a bunch, oh and pictures are a MUST! post it up once it get it complete

YAY!! im excited!! it will be my 1st mod...lol

I just did it and I think its possible, just have to find a good place to mount the balast and tie the harness off. Easier with the bumper removed, but removing the bumper and putting it back is a chore in itself. Was my first time, but its straighforward, but hard to reach some of the nuts&bolts...lol.

Is it possible to install the HID fogs without removing the bumper??

Yes, I never removed my bumper before.
1) Rhino Ramps (not necessary but my car is lowered and no space underneath)
2) Remove front part of plastic underneath cover.

Cleaned up Turbos fog thread - and started a new thread for this......carry on folks.

= stop thread jacking folks

HID will always be brighter than automotive LEDS.

I took my bumper off so I can screw mount the ballast. you can skip that and zip tie it hanging somewhere, not a good idea IMO... but works I guess.

Chedman13, thanks for the info. I've been browsing on Ebay for couple of days trying to find the better HID kit. After seeing the life time warranty from DDM Tuning, I ordered. Can't wait to get them installed.

They have great customer service too and they've been around for a while now. It's nice knowing what you're getting vs what's on ebay. Worth the little extra you pay at DDM.

I have their products on 4 cars, been about 2 years now.

I just ordered 35w H8 in 6000k along with 6000k D2S. Not sure why I have been putting this off so long. It came out to be about $120 shipped, so I'd say it's a good deal with the warranties. Only thing is they only offer a 1-year warranty on the bulbs by themselves because "they can't determine what ballast it will be connected to". That makes me mad because they should know D2S is the OEM ballast, and should no problems. But hey, it's only $30, so it's not hard to replace even if it is every year.
